Jones Road Miracle Balm in Pinched Cheeks

Jones Road new Miracle Balm launches.

Steadily climbing into the beauty stratosphere, Jones Road expands its range with mindful and impressive launches. Today, the Miracle Balm color wheel adds two new swatches with the addition of Pinched Cheeks and Cocoa Brown. If you’re a fan of this effortless multitasker, you will be thrilled with the latest. Especially if you prefer a stronger pigment play and low or no shimmer effect in your Miracle Balm. More below.

The new shade joins Dusty Rose and Flushed as the ultimate blush option for those who love a healthy pop of pink. Personally, I find Dusty Rose looks best on my skin. It provides a subtle color payoff and looks very natural on me. Side note: I rarely wear makeup. The low shimmer factor in Pinched Cheeks, on the other hand, adds true rosy pink vibrancy with a gleam, particularly visible in natural daylight.

Jones Road side by side comparison of Miracle Balm in Dusty Rose and Pinched Cheeks.

I tried Miracle Balm in Pinched Cheeks as soon as my confidential early access pot arrived and noticed immediately how little I needed to make it work for me: an amount equivalent to three grains of rice, at most. I am not as stingy with Dusty Rose, which is more muted and natural-looking on my skin (prone to redness in my cheeks). My personal preference is to achieve a subtle glow with little to no color, which is why my most reached for shades are Au Naturel and Dusty Rose. If you feel best with a more prominent pink hue, you will want to give this new launch a try.

Jones Road Miracle Balm in Cocoa Bronze

Miracle Balm in Cocoa Bronze

I have yet to get my hands on Cocoa Bronze but will be swinging by the JRB store in NYC to sample it very soon. This particular shade expands on the all-over bronzing range that currently includes Sunkissed and Bronze. Described as a “plummy bronze for medium to deep skin tones” it adds a more intense wash of color to mimic that just back from vacation hint of a tan. Thus comes in especially handy when you haven’t gone anywhere. Cocoa Bronze is, by far, the deepest shade of the three. It is also shimmer-free. Yay.

Bronzing with Jones Road

As much as I want to love a MB bronze moment, in the warmer months, my combination skin can only handle so much. I reach for the Gel Bronzer the moment temperatures go above 50°F. This way I achieve the subtle yet noticeable hint of a tan without the added moisture, which can look too dewy on me.

Application

Simply use your fingers for easy application. Be sure to ‘break the seal’ on your brand new Miracle Balm, which magically activates the formula’s color performance. Pat a very small amount into the skin. If you have trouble blending or want to sheer out the formula, use a brush. The Everything Brush from Jones Road is great for that.
