Beauty Thinkers Antioxidant Boost Face Oil

If you think I open unsolicited mailers filled with upcoming skincare launches all day everyday…you wouldn’t be completely wrong. Part of chasing the latest in beauty and sharing what works for me, however, also requires quite a bit of legwork. At least once a week, I comb through new arrivals tabs at some of my favorite online retailers. With zero pressure, I’m able to keep up with the constantly evolving product landscape. A couple of months ago, I spotted a brand called Beauty Thinkers and one of their products looked particularly intriguing. Having used the Antioxidant Boost Facial Oil for a while now, I’m back with the scoop.

Who are the Beauty Thinkers?

I’ve found two articles on the founders of this neat-looking brand but both are behind a paywall. I love you guys but there is no way I’m paying for access to WWD or Business of Fashion so google search results will have to suffice. Co-founders Jeffrey Matsumoto and Claudio Castiglioni are a couple in life and business who met while working at the fashion brand Tod’s. Beauty Thinkers focuses on the most Italian thing you can think of after fashion: olive oil. Working with an olive grove estate in Umbria, the range highlights this super nutrient with a twist.

What makes Beauty Thinkers different?

We all know the health benefits of olive oil. In moderation, of course. It’s become very popular in skincare because it’s extremely moisturizing while offering superb antioxidant protection. It is also, sadly, not the most cosmetically elegant ingredient when applied topically. Using bioengineered technology, Beauty Thinkers treats extra virgin olive oil with specific enzymes to convert the triglycerides (a portion of them because olive oil is 98-99% triglycerides) into free fatty acids. This process allows for the oil to become more bioavailable so that it is easily absorbed. The method does not compromise the oil’s benefits. It even boosts its antioxidant activity.

What is EVOO Enzimatico?

The Beauty Thinkers facial oil is not a single ingredient formula. It does contain predominantly Extra Virgin Olive Oil but adds a touch of Vitamin E, Sunflower Oil, and a common solvent beauty companies use instead of silicone or mineral oil (C15-19 Alkane to be precise). The olive oil itself, the star ingredient, is cold-processed using fruit from an early harvest. These two factors are important because they ensure that the most nutrient-dense product is never degraded by heat.  I’m here for this eco-luxe minimalism.

Using The Beauty Thinkers Face Oil

Per the brand, Antioxidant Boost is your last step before sunscreen. Personally, facial oils work best for me under a moisturizer. I tend to mix a few drops of an oil with a water-based serum or a more lightweight moisturizer (like the absolutely brilliant Sisley Ecological Compound). The Beauty Thinkers formula has a silky texture and does absorb significantly better than many oils I have tried. It is moisturizing and just occlusive enough not to leave a film-like finish on my skin. It’s neither heavy nor greasy and completely unscented. In short, I’m thrilled with this treasure find.
