The Body Shop – Spa of the World Collection

THE BODY SHOP SPA OF THE WORLD REVIEW INHAUTEPURSUIT

Enhancing moods and showerscapes stateside, The Body Shop launched its Spa of the World™ range his week and introduced some of the most luxurious textures and scents, which help us deal with Seasonal Affective Disorder. Sourced worldwide and inspired by some very exotic destinations, the clays, oils, exfoliators, and moisturizers are the only first class ticket you need this fall. After all, “escapism starts at home”, indeed. Lucky to have sampled most of the range pre-release, here’s the scoop on some of my faves.

Moroccan Rhassoul Body Clay – A clay mask for your body, this skin firming and reviving treatment features one of the most treasured ingredients in Morocco. Rich in countless minerals and trace elements, Rhassoul Clay absorbs excess oil, purifies and detoxifies the skin, which leaves it impressively smooth. Apply a generous amount and after 15 minutes rinse with cool water to maximize and prolong its tightening abilities. Immediately after washing it off, you will feel a slight tingle as the mask re-energizes the skin – no discomfort, no dryness. Another major perk: the clay rinses clean without staining the grout nor tiles! Most definitely get the Body Brush ($15) because you’re proper and fancy. Himalayan Charcoal Body Clay is an additional option. $24 each

Dead Sea Salt Scrub – Rich and and buttery, the Dead Sea Salt Scrub has a thick, creamy consistency, studded with coarse flecks of salt. Invigorating and superbly moisturizing, this double duty remedy removes dry flakes from your skin’s surface and improves circulation. It leaves behind a soft spa-like scent and lasting hydration. Infused with Aloe Vera, Olive, and Mango Seed Oils, this ultra nourishing treatment is an ideal addition to your shower as we transition to the colder months. Equally lush and even more scrubby, the African Ximenia Scrub is also available! $32 each

Japanese Camellia Cream – A luxed-up version of traditional body butter, the Japanese Camellia Cream is whipped and spun to velvety perfection. Intensely hydrating, this Shea Butter based moisture magnet highlights antioxidant rich Camellia Seed Oil to nourish, soften, and protect dry skin. Never overpowering, the pleasant and subtle floral tea aroma is soothing to the senses and lingers casually. Fast absorbing, this traceless formula is completely non-greasy, which makes it a great post bath or shower treat both morning and night. If you crave a heavier dose of comfort, try the Hawaiian Kukui Cream. $36 each

Body Oils – Offering an array of options, The Body Shop Spa of the World collection includes four different body oils. The ultimate selection, Polynesian Monoi Radiance Oil has been treasured by the women of Pacific Island for centuries. This blend of Coconut and Tiare Flower Extracts brings shine and radiance to dull, lackluster skin and hair. Reminiscent of a tropical getaway, the exotic scent is a huge bonus. $25

Available in three ingredient oriented formulas, the new Massage Oils come in French Lavender, Thai Lemongrass, and Tahitian Orchid. Calming and relaxing, the French Lavender Massage Oil combines Sweet Almond, Chamomile, and Jojoba to achieve its silky texture and skin conditioning benefits. The spot on fragrance, courtesy of Lavender Oil, provides a sensory moment that matches an aromatherapy experience in the fields of Provence. My favorite way to apply it is on damp skin right before stepping out of the shower. Pat yourself dry with a towel and you’re ready for a great night’s sleep. A few drops in your bath water are highly recommended. $20 each
