You may have noticed that Remedy released a Face & Neck Firming Advanced Serum Stick lately. Or what I now refer to as the Remedy Retinal Stick. Because while I’m all for marketing buzzwords, after a week of first impressions, this is my new neck treatment with retinal. And as a non-neck-cream-loyalist and someone who is particular about his retinoid formulas, this one is worth noting. More on why below.
What is the Remedy Face & Neck Serum Stick?
This launch is a lot of things. And if it weren’t so intriguing, it would be annoying. First of all, it’s a solid, waterless stick. Secondly, it’s a solid serum aka one you can glide over your skin for a borderline touchless application. Thirdly, it is a retinal treatment for all things aging-related. See what I mean? It sounds really good on paper.
Why the neck?
In short, our necks get the biggest workout. Constantly moving, without much proper support against gravity, the skin on our necks can make us look older. It’s also prone to sunburn which leads to discoloration. Add the constant scrolling or daylong laptop habit and you are officially a candidate for preventative neck treatment. Remedy also ensures ease of application that is perfect for the neck area since the stick format glides easily across the skin.
Why retinal?
Because it’s proven effective in correcting a wide range of skin-related imperfections. These include loss of firmness, fine lines, hyperpigmentation, and overall dullness.

And since retinal is even more effective than retinol, Remedy perfected its buffered potency to deliver all the hardcore results but stay gentle on the skin. Usually, those who found retinol too potent would never dare going for retinal but this solution is actually perfect for even those with sensitive skin types.
What is in this Remedy Face & Neck stick?
Let’s start with the obvious: no water. That’s not just a formulation quirk, it’s the whole point. Water is what most bacteria need to thrive, which is why traditional creams lean so heavily on preservatives to survive months of finger-dipping. Skip the water, skip that problem, and you get a formula that’s safe to apply straight to skin without a second thought. It also explains the texture: dense and balm-like in the stick, but it melts down to a finish that’s surprisingly weightless. No grease, no shine.
As for what’s actually doing the work: encapsulated retinal, meaning it releases slowly instead of hitting skin all at once (read: less irritation, same results), paired with a peptide duo built for firmness. Then there’s the Spilanthol Firming Complex, drawn from the Spilanthes Acmella flower and often called “nature’s Botox” for the instant tightening, line-softening effect it gives. Round it out with CoQ10 for antioxidant backup and a blend of lipids responsible for that cushiony, dense-but-never-greasy glide, and you’ve got a stick doing a lot more than its size lets on.
How I use this Remedy solid serum
My experience includes mostly the neck application. I tend to reach for it at night and go with a single swipe per area not to overapply and cause product buildup. It’s also important to note that retinal by nature tends to give products a yellow or orange hue. And the Remedy retinal stick is indeed yellow. And while it absorbs well, it’s still a solid balm which may stain your white pillowcase (or pajama collar?) if you go with 10 swipes to the neck.
Do you need it?
Honestly, you may not. If you already use a firming moisturizer that you extend down your neck and you’re happy with the results, you’re fine. But if your neck is open to a more moisturizing treatment with a hefty dose of anti-aging, this Remedy treatment is a good one to try.
