First Impressions: L’OCCITANE Immortelle Divine Cleansing Balm and Foaming Cleansing Cream

Expanding on the luxurious Immortelle Divine range, L’OCCITANE has launched a double-cleansing system fueled by the radiance-boosting powers of organic Immortelle Flower Extract. Inspired by the ‘forever young’ botanical, the latest additions complement your anti-aging skincare ritual and provide the perfect canvas for any treatment product. First impressions; this dynamic duo delivers a spa grade experience when used together, but each formula is a phenomenal solo performer as well.

*NEW*

Cleansing Balm

Housed in a regal looking jar, the new Immortelle Divine Cleansing Balm is as lush as you’d expect. The solid texture melts upon contact with dry skin and becomes an oil as it dissolves makeup, grime, and even spackle-like sunscreen. The balm turns milky when you add water and rinses off beautifully, leaving the skin soft, plump, and perfectly cleansed.

ok, so not the most travel friendly packaging (and that’s OK)

What’s in it? A straightforward blend of nourishing botanicals that include Sunflower Seed, Sweet Almond and Coconut Oils, Shea Butter, and Beeswax as well as the signature Immortelle Flower Extract. The fresh, mood balancing floral notes are superb. Added fragrance: yes. Delicious: YASSS!

oh-so-lush

Having used both hydrophilic (water-loving) and hydrophobic (water-hating) cleansing balms, I prefer to enhance the experience by removing either with a soft washcloth. For those with skin too sensitive to take on any additional tugging (as gentle as it can be) or for those who prefer to follow up with a foaming formula instead, you can easily skip the cloth. Since the new L’OCCITANE cleanser emulsifies with water, it scores extra points for being user-friendly and time-saving. What it’s missing: possibly a cloth. $44 (2.3 oz.)

Foaming Cleansing Cream

Ok, this may be the most sublime cleansing foam I have come across to date. If you’ve stayed away from ‘foaming’ anything because well, if it foams, it must be drying, don’t write off this L’OCCITANE newness just yet. Extremely gentle and ultra hydrating, this creamy solution lathers and cleans without stripping the skin. While designed to follow the balm, the Immortelle Divine foam is my current go-to for a single step morning cleanse. Refreshing and comforting, this brand new in-shower staple leaves the skin supple and never tight. $39 (4.2 oz.)

love everything about it
totally non-drying

Both new L’OCCITANE cleansers are pretty divine, indeed. If I had to pick one, I’d go with the foam but that’s because anything that foams does good things to my combination skin. It is definitely richer than most cleansing options, so I’m looking forward to indulging more, especially with cooler weather coming soon.
