Mount Sapo All-Over Oil

When it comes to face oils, I’m a tough critic. It doesn’t help that many of my favorites live in the luxury realm, complete with price tags to match. That’s why the Mount Sapo All-Over Oil caught me off guard—in the best way. Initially, it was the cheerful, inviting bottle that drew me in. A week later, I haven’t stopped using it (as the name suggests, all over), especially on my face. At $12.42 per ounce, this oil is not just a staple—it’s a steal. Here’s why I’m obsessed.

What Is Mount Sapo?

Named after a mythical mountain near Rome, Mount Sapo is believed to be the birthplace of soap and the origin of bathing rituals. The word “sapo,” means “soap” in Latin. Today, it’s also the name of a British indie beauty brand known for crafting nutrient-dense, water-free products like the All-Over Oil and All-Rounder Balm. Rooted in the philosophy of elevating self-care by simplifying routines, Mount Sapo’s formulas are handmade in small batches using 100% natural ingredients. While currently available at select stockists, Stateside distribution remains limited—but I’m hopeful for broader availability soon. Why this brand isn’t a staple at every clean beauty retailer is a mystery.

What Makes the All-Over Oil Special?

As the name suggests, the All-Over Oil is a moisturizing multitasker. Designed to soothe, nourish, and restore, it strengthens the skin barrier while offering lasting hydration. Despite its robust formula, the oil feels silky and weightless on the skin, making it suitable for all skin types—including oily, acne-prone, and sensitive. It’s my current go-to for its feel-good, do-good versatility.

What’s Inside the All-Over Oil?

This blend is packed with antioxidant-rich plant oils like Argan, Sea Buckthorn, Jojoba, and Rosehip Seed, alongside soothing botanicals such as Acacia, Clary Sage, and Plum Kernel extracts. The oil is 99% organic—Palo Santo oil, which makes up the final 1%, is wild-harvested and therefore not classified as organic.

About the Scent

Spoiler alert: I love it. The scent is a balanced mix of zesty, herbaceous, and earthy notes, resulting in a calming and grounding aroma. Essential oils like Ylang-Ylang, Vetiver, Lemon Peel, and Palma Rosa contribute to this unique fragrance.

How to Use It

The All-Over Oil is as versatile as it gets. Use it from head to toe:

• As a face or body moisturizer

• As a hair oil to tame flyaways or nourish dry ends

• As a pre-shave oil or makeup remover

• In the bath for added hydration

• Before gua sha or after dry brushing

• As a beard oil for men

Pro Tips:

1. For the Body: Apply to damp skin after a shower to lock in moisture.

2. For the Face: Massage a few drops into a heavily misted face or mix with a Hyaluronic Acid serum for an extra hydration boost. This method ensures optimal absorption without any sticky or greasy residue—just a healthy, radiant glow.

The generous size (100ml or 200ml) outshines the industry standard 30ml for face oils, making it a great value.

Where to Buy

Mount Sapo All-Over Oil is available in two sizes: 100ml for $42 and 200ml for $59. Check out  mountsapo.com (note: shipping to the US is pricey), capbeauty.com (currently out of stock), or blancheandmimi.com—my go-to destination when visiting Portland, Maine.

This oil is a rare find—thoughtfully formulated, reasonably priced, and endlessly versatile. Whether you’re new to face oils or a seasoned enthusiast, the Mount Sapo All-Over Oil deserves a place in your routine.
