Jones Road Shower Fragrance

Years ago, I was absolutely fixated on Bath, a fragrance from Bobbi Brown. It was clean in a soapy but uniquely familiar way. It also lasted on the skin the entire day. And it was promptly discontinued. Today, Jones Road Beauty, or what I sometimes refer to as the second coming of Bobbi, is officially launching its first ever fragrance and it’s called… Shower. I say ‘officially’ because it was available for a short time in lab packaging around Mother’s Day. When it sold out in 3 days.

Last week, I visited the JRB flagship store in Montclair, NJ and was treated to a surprise bottle pre-release. If you enjoy an ultra-clean but chic and memorable scent that’s both comforting and intriguing, Shower will satisfy that very craving.

What are the notes in Jones Road Shower?

Jones Road Beauty refers to this launch as a timeless blend of Neroli, Orange Blossom, and Sea Spray. And that’s exactly how it smells. Think of a bright citrus that is ever so slightly muted by a soft white floral and then wrapped in a cool ozonic note. Shower is not tricky, heady or complex–it’s friendly and approachable.

How Shower by Jones Road smells on me

Shower radiates ultimate freshness. It combines the nostalgia of your favorite bar of soap with the unburdened conventionality of a white T-shirt. There is nothing risque about this shower. It has a slight citrus edge with the Neroli coming through in the middle, but it eventually sets on my skin with a super clean soapy floral note. I am thrilled that it’s neither creamy nor warm.

Thoughts on the Shower Fragrance

Shower is more ‘you smell good’ than ‘what are you wearing?’ This is exactly how I want an everyday scent to be. As far as longevity, it’s subtle but present. I find that the more lightweight, casual scents often do best with an extra spritz around midday or the afternoon. The on-brand packaging continues the cool, clean ethos flawlessly. My only wish: will it be available in a larger size?
