True Botanicals Everything Rescue Balm

Tis the season for salves, balms, and all-in-ones! I can’t be the only one excited about the lush, multi-tasking, mega-moisturizing formulas we can slather on our lips, cuticles, unexpected dry patches, even unruly eyebrows. Last week, the new True Botanicals Everything Rescue Balm landed in my hands. In just a few days, it’s skyrocketed to the top of my favorites list. It is occlusive without feeling greasy, delivers impressive results in a single application, and has a faint, pleasant scent. I’m very impressed.

What is the Everything Rescue Balm?

The True Botanicals Everything Rescue Balm is a solid balm-to-oil formula with a mighty goal. It promises to moisturize, nourish, calm, and protect compromised, irritated skin. The brand coined ‘make it better faster’ since most SOS situations can be rescued with a single application.

What’s in the True Botanicals balm ?

While the Everything Rescue Balm is technically solid, with the heat of your fingers, the texture softens easily. The Shea Butter base is infused with an Olive, Jojoba, and Sesame Oil blend. If you’re wondering what contributes to the beautiful orange hue of this formula, it’s a mix of Marigold Extract (soothing, healing, and an anti-inflammatory) and Astaxanthin (repairing, moisturizing, free-radical fighting antioxidant).

My favorite INCI callout goes to Punica Granatum Sterols, aka Pomegranate-derived emollient, which helps boost cellular regeneration and strengthens the skin barrier. Other nourishing botanicals include Mango Seed Butter, Aloe Leaf Extract, and Coconut Oil.

Is there a scent?

Yes. And it’s lovely. The Everything Rescue Balm contains a sprinkling of essential oils from Rosemary, Lavender, Immortelle Flower, and Eucalyptus Leaf. As I type out these fragrant oils, I want to assure you the scent is much lighter than it sounds. Think herbal and mind-soothing with slightly more prominent notes of Lavender and Rosemary (to me at least).

How do I use it?

The short list of reasons I keep reaching for my tin: it’s user-friendly and versatile. Most importantly–it’s effective. And since the tin is so light and compact (yet packs 50ml of product), it moves with me from bedside to computer to bag whenever I leave the house. It’s my go-to on the lips before a morning walk and then again at bedtime. I am also happy to report the orange hue has not stained the pillowcase. Since the formula exhibits no stickiness, I’ve been dabbing it on my cuticles and knuckles throughout the day (OCD hand washer here).

Do you need it?

Yes. And so does your beauty aficionado friend if you‘re looking for a stocking stuffer. I’m not a body care fanatic (face care is another story) but the Everything Rescue Balm is fantastic. Is it a miracle? Nothing in topical beauty is. This is, however, an excellent solution to tackle dry, itchy or chapped skin that will soon be triggered by the upcoming winter weather.
