I categorically hate packing, but the YUNI brand became the major beauty highlight when it arrived on the day I set out to prep for the trip to Costa Rica this week. Completely new to me, these self-proclaimed ‘Seekers of Good’ offer remarkable solutions for skin, hair and body care needs inspired by the yoga lifestyle. And while I am currently typing from the yoga capital of the world, let me be clear that I have yet to take a class (sixth visit here so judge away). In my defense, dirt roads, ocean water, and copious amounts of tequila are why this zen inducing brand has become my current absolute obsession.
What is YUNI?
Developed to complement modern active lifestyles, this impressive range comes from a couple of Yogis and beauty industry veterans. Emmanuel Rey and Suzanne Dawson, truly citizens of the world, combined global experience with a desire for greatness to create a brand that delivers both inner peace and outer beauty.
Admittedly, my yoga experience is limited to one summer class at Hunter College circa 2005 to wrap up those elective credits but that isn’t relevant with regard to my full appreciation of YUNI. Formulated using essential oils that impact our wellbeing needs, the botanical blends aim to energize, ground, calm, and relax. Cleansing and nourishing aside, the mood enhancing properties are prescription worthy. Hashtag street value.
Definitely a hero product, Instant Shower Sheet is a YUNI must-have. Even if you don’t travel, get yourself a pack of these magical inventions because they will come in handy whether you’re running late for work or have two minutes between leaving the office for a date. If you spin at lunch time, take a real shower before heading back to the office though, ok? Saturated to perfection these body size towelettes are infused with moisturizing Glycerin and Neem as a natural cleansing agent. Carefully selected botanicals revive your body and mind. Think Apple, Rosemary, Spearmint, Bitter Orange, Lavender Oils and Cucumber, Green and White Tea Extracts. You. Will. Love.
No Rinse?
Another option for you when a shower just isn’t in the cards, the No-Rinse Body Cleansing Foam is a fast acting fix that deodorizes as it cleans without leaving residue behind. Fueled by Aloe Vera and Neem Leaf Extract, this feather light foam absorbs impurities and evaporates within seconds. Part of the calming range, it highlights stress relieving Lavender, Geranium, and Frankincense Essential Oils. Get the travel size of this gem regardless of your lifestyle. It’s the dry shampoo equivalent for your body. Everybody needs it.
When shower *is* available, you can really make it count with YUNI Concentrated Body Cleansing Crème. Rich and lush, this thick emulsion contains significantly less water than other body wash formulas on the market. An in-shower aromatherapy experience, the balancing bouquet of Ylang-Ylang, Orange and Patchouli is pretty sublime. Not your average body wash by a mile, the formula is driven by fair trade Turmeric and Green Tea Extracts.
Both uplifting and relaxing, the YUNI Aromatic Body Mist scents and conditions the skin with Bergamot, Neroli, and Sage. A perfect post shower treat, this fragrant perk to your regimen lingers comfortably without overpowering. Formulated to promote focus and clarity, it is a fantastic mid day pick me up.
A complete hand cream collector, my YUNI travel adventure includes the brand’s Rejuvenating Hand Crème. Incredibly fast absorbing, the whipped texture glides on and sinks in immediately. Lightly scented and highly moisturizing, the formula consists of Baobab Oil, Green Tea, Aloe Vera, and Shea Butter. For those who struggle with dry hands that can’t get enough moisture, this one delivers instant softness and lasting comfort with the added benefit of never feeling greasy. Handbag, manbag, gym bag. Your bag essential.
YUNI uses only 100% natural aromas in all formulas, which also happen to be non-toxic, plant based, biodegradable and compostable. Never tested on animals and made in the USA, too. Available at Sephora.com and yunibeauty.com.
