QVC Beauty Advent Calendar – What’s In It and What’s Missing

Having completely redefined home shopping, QVC is at the forefront of beauty industry newness. The ‘everybody wants to be us’ line from The Devil Wears Prada comes to mind each time I spot a brand with stellar brick & mortar presence branching out into TV sales. Reaching millions of households = priceless.

QVC represents a stunning gamut of brands. From little known gems to prestige offerings, there is astounding variety and countless options. This holiday season, the Christmas Beauty Advent Calendar offers a window (or twenty four windows I should say) into QVC’s beauty arena with some of the most popular and wished for skin, body and makeup inventions.

The Calendar

Fitted into a stunning keepsake box, the QVC Beauty Advent Calendar opens like a book and delivers a double sided pop out sampling experience. Ideal for enthusiasts and novices alike, the assortment includes sample, travel, and full size treats. Whether you’re looking to try something out before splurging or beefing up your gym bag, this is a fantastic way to do either. Or both.

My Favorites

As a ginormous skincare aficionado, I am thrilled to see the inclusion of some of my all time favorites. The Purity Made Simple cleanser from philosophy, Paula’s Choice 2% BHA Liquid, Peter Thomas Roth’s Cucumber Gel Mask, and Ultra Repair Cream by First Aid Beauty comprise a fully comprehensive regimen for any skin type. These will last a good few weeks, too.

I’m most excited to try Algenist, StriVectin, Clark’s Botanicals, and Juice Beauty. From serums to targeted treatments in the moisturizer department, I cannot wait to indulge in these luxe formulas. One can never have enough body washes (thanks, philosophy and Molton Brown) because every house guest deserves the treatment they’d get at a fabulous inn. Just ask my friends.

Makeup

OMG there is so much fun makeup in the QVC Beauty Advent Calendar. Makes me wish I wore some! Coincidentally, this category has some full-size treats like Doll 10 Lip Velvet and Mally Mascara. At the same time, there are a few no-brand items (unless they are QVC private label) like the makeup blending sponge, eyelash curler, faux eyelashes, and nail file.

What’s missing…

HAIRCARE. I love QVC and all the great TSV hooks that get me weak in the knees but why are there no hair products in the Advent Calendar? Not being critical, simply wondering…

Check the calendar out at QVC.com ($63.96) where the description also includes its entire contents. Heads up: spoiler alert!
