First Impressions: Farmacy Honeymoon Glow

New Farmacy Honey Glow serum.

This formula is no longer available as of January 2024. Please check out the updated Honey Glow by Farmacy here.

There certainly is no shortage of resurfacing acid treatments in the skincare space. We can pick and choose from among countless single acid formulas or uniquely balanced blends. Toners, pads, serums, overnight masks, and moisturizers – the choices are at times overwhelming. Partial to radiance boosters fueled by Lactic Acid, I couldn’t wait to get the new Farmacy Honeymoon Glow in my hands! It’s been a few weeks since the pre-release mailer arrived and I’m thrilled to share my first impressions!

Farmacy Hone Glow resurfacing serum.

The scoop.

The latest from Farmacy is the perfect solution for those struggling with dull skin tone. Lightweight enough to be incorporated into any existing routine, the serum lotion hybrid is thin but far from runny. It absorbs quickly without leaving so much as a trace behind. Since the potent blend of Alpha Hydroxy Acids (Lactic and Glycolic) is paired with BHA (Willow Bark Extract) and fruit acids from the Hibiscus Flower, Honeymoon Glow has been designed specifically for use at nighttime.

Farmacy skincare packaging.

Honeymoon Glow is packed with nourishing, revitalizing, and skin conditioning ingredients such as Sodium Hyaluronate, Royal Jelly, Propolis and Echinacea Extract as well as Turmeric, Ginger Root, Meadowfoam and Argan Oils among others, so it will never feel drying.

The feels.

No burning nor redness and only a slight tingle upon application. Embrace it. Acids help decongest clogged pores, slough off a layer of dead cells from the skin’s surface, lighten hyperpigmentation, and improve overall tone and texture. Smooth glass-like skin goals. And, you’ll likely see a change the first morning after and more noticeably with time.

How I do it.

A fan of acid anything, I use all rinse-off and leave-on treatments on clean, completely dry skin. I also allow time for a product to absorb completely prior to layering on a richer moisturizer or face oil. This way, the exfoliating properties in any acids can maximize their benefits. I’ve relied on Honeymoon Glow as the sole resurfacing treatment step for my combination skin this summer with notable success. As temperatures fall, I predict my skin will require additional moisture. Be sure to use broad spectrum SPF during the day since AHA/BHA solutions can (and will) make the skin more susceptible to sunburn.

Farmacy Honey infused skincare routine.

Honeymoon Glow is an impressive resurfacing serum and might just top my list of favorite products from Farmacy. If you’re an enthusiast of Lactic Acid exfoliators (or Sunday Riley Good Genes), definitely give it a try.

That’s a tough one! They’re definitely both effective – Good Genes may be a tad more aggressive so it would depend on your skin’s sensitivity or needs. Farmacy is much more affordable, which could be a deciding factor. The good news is you can’t go wrong with either.

I would say it’s probably best to alternate BP one night and Honeymoon Glow the other night. I think BP and Salicylic Acid used together have potential to possibly by quite drying to the skin.
