Extra Extra – *NEW* ESTÉE LAUDER Enlighten EE Creme

Always one step ahead, Estée Lauder launched a new EE Creme last week: Even Effect Skintone Corrector SPF30, part of the latest Enlighten range. Referred to as EE Creme by those in the know, it is the most recent in the world of pigmented daytime treatments. Together with a bottle of Night Serum and a jar of Creme, this new product trio addresses damage caused by pollution and UV exposure during the day, which can accelerate hyperpigmentation at night time.

Every Enlighten product complements the other to deliver cumulative long term results of even skin tone. A perfect companion to Serum and Creme, this complexion perfector is more than a tinted moisturizer for all skin types. As a color treatment product, EE Corrector delivers instant effects while fighting premature aging with its SPF 30 (sadly, no broad spectrum protection here). The three color options offered by Estée Lauder, put it way ahead of the craze-starter BB cream, which is often too ashy to live up to its one-shade-fits-all label.

This EE Creme is extremely sheer. Buildable if needed, the coverage it provides is subtle and natural. The immediate brightening effect via light reflecting properties is a convincing optical illusion. With no obvious shimmer, the medium shade I am using has a slight gold undertone, blends like a dream and makes me look healthy, rested and excited. This one has all the right moves and can double as a highlighter when needed tbh. For those who don’t mind fragrance in their skincare, try this one out–the signature juicy floral scent of EE Creme is pretty and delicious. It reminds me of the discontinued La Mer Fluid Tint SPF 18 sans the ultra dewy finish (which I still mourn thankyouverymuch).

The key ingredient in the Enlighten product trifecta is baicalin. Used in Chinese medicine for thousands of years, this root extract repairs sun damage, brightens the skin, and has the ability to prolong cell life, making it a perfect anti-ager. It’s a cellular regenerator, ok? Gentle enough for sensitive skin, it has also been used to treat eczema and psoriasis. Safe and powerful, the formula is as advanced as it is luxurious. Hydrating but never greasy, this EE Creme might have just become my new favorite double-letter cream.

Like it or not, every single one of us has hyperpigmentation to address. Whether it’s redness, acne scars, or sunspots, this innovative treatment performs extraordinarily well. At $40 for a 1oz tube (a gorgeous, sleek violet to silver ombre one), it’s not the cheapest of the bunch, but the Estée Lauder EE Creme is a deal to be had in the US. Yours truly paid £34 at Selfridges in London and dealt with a sales associate who couldn’t find her way out of a brown paper bag. Check it out at Sephora.com, Nordstrom.com, or NeimanMarcus.com.
