Is this *THE* BYREDO scent to try?
Depending on the season, you can’t help but favor certain scents over others. Gypsy Water makes for a very rare fragrance that wears well on me only during colder months. This BYREDO creation is not casual but it can be when you need it to be. It smells well-traveled. Of exotic air but with a depth of a woodsy note. Gypsy Water is definitely a grown up scent. Elegant and comfortable is how I feel when I wear it.
Notes of Gypsy Water
Bursting with Bergamot and Lemon, the opening notes are very crisp while Pepper and Juniper Berries enhance the citrus and provide deeper aromatics. Breathe in… Within seconds Incense and Pine Needles take over and linger along with orris root, which happens to be an ingredient one finds in many a gin. Now, breathe out… Gypsy Water sets into a soft base of Amber, Vanilla and Sandalwood, a combination I would normally avoid. The drydown is sophisticated but soft and most definitely noticeable.
Testing The (Gypsy) Waters
This particular BYREDO masterpiece is completely free of floral notes and a gender bending perfection. Stark, modern and completely unisex in its design the round bottle with a magnetic dome top is chic, aesthetically pleasing and an impressive enhancement to every bathroom counter. Gypsy Water has great longevity with a subtle intensity. Never aggressive, it’s a fragrance that stays with you throughout the day and remains subtle yet intriguing to everyone around.
