Avon Launches CBD Face Oil And Your Favorite ANTM Winner Got You

new this week

I’m trying to be casual but this is actually pretty exciting. Especially, if you’re close to my age and remember the edge-of-your-seat reality TV of the early 2000s. I am not talking about Survivor. America’s Next Top Model, anyone? Here’s an update that ties into beauty. The OG winner of season 1, Adrianne Curry is now an Avon representative. Cue segue: the brand just launched Green Goddess, a CBD infused face oil that I have been using for a few weeks now.

on trend

Adrianne Curry was my hero circa 2003. If you don’t follow her on Instagram, you should. She’s more outspoken and possibly even funnier than she was 17 years ago. And stunning. Is it Avon? Not sure, because she signed up a few months ago. A decision she made under the influence of painkillers while watching ‘Edward Scissorhands’ during her post-surgery recovery. Her words, not mine. P.S. I actually used an Avon moisturizer which I loved back then. I still remember the teal hued jar — it was the Retroactive Night Cream.

Back to Avon newness. Contrary to popular belief, I am not a face oil snob. Yes, there are some luxe formulas I enjoy using but I’ve covered and used a number of impressive options at very approachable price points (Jordan Samuel, Youth To The People or Derma-E immediately come to mind). Avon’s Green Goddess lands comfortably in the latter category. And while you can’t walk into the store and grab a bottle, you can order it from your favorite ANTM winner.

What’s in it?

I had to do a double-take but my eyesight isn’t failing me yet. In other good news, there are only 8 ingredients in this newest Avon launch. The blend of nourishing Squalane, Jojoba, Cannabis Sativa and, Sunflower Seed Oils is infused with anti-inflammatory Cannabidiol (100mg per bottle), a soothing Chamomile derivative (Guaiazulene), and Caprylyl Glycol as a preservative. The formula is rather lightweight, which allows someone like myself (hello, combination skin) to wear it day or night. Speaking of…

How do I use it?

Green Goddess is neither thick nor juicy like some heavier oils (think Rosehip) since Squalane and Jojoba lead the deck. It’s silky and absorbs easily. I’ve had great luck using it over serums and under my SPF during the day (on a cold day) and as the last step of my PM routine. Do I use it daily? No. However, this Avon newness is an easy choice when my skin needs some extra soothing triggered by the weather or ingredients. It also mixes well with serums if you’re into cocktailing your skincare.

The scent is barely there. It’s that trademark Cannabis note that doesn’t exactly smell like weed but has a specific maybe slightly earthy undertone. It won’t bother you and the formula is suitable for all skin types including sensitive. Avon uses the entire Cannabis plant during the extraction process (stalks, stem, leaves, seeds, flowers) but don’t worry, it does not contain THC.

Yay or Nay

If you’re looking for a simple face oil that calms and soothes as it nourishes, the Avon’s green Goddess is seriously pretty great. If you’re looking for something more elevated ingredient-wise, the Luxury CBD Serum from Saint Jane Beauty is fantastic though some may need to consider its hefty price tag. For those interested in CBD-infused oils that can be applied topically and taken orally, the Lord Jones Royal Oil does both well (full dropper dispensed under your tongue delivers 40mg of CBD). It also leans heavily towards pricey.

The $34.99 (30ml) introductory price for the new CBD face oil is valid when you order via an Avon representative. If you plan to order online, it will climb up to $50 soon. You can click HERE to purchase Green Goddess from your Top Avon Lady, Adrianne Curry.
