Philosophy Purity Made Simple Moisturizer

A launching pad into a range of remarkable ancillaries, the purity made simple one step facial cleanser has been a constant in my philosophy skincare adventures for forever. With the masks, wipes, and micellar water that followed, we’ve all been anticipating the most recent launch of the purity made simple moisturizer. Simple and anything but basic, the new addition is a fantastic lightweight solution that rounds up an effective system to achieve a makeup optional complexion.

fits right in

What is it?

An ideal gateway to a proper skincare regimen, especially for those just exploring what can be an overwhelming beauty landscape, the new philosophy purity made simple moisturizer is straightforward, affordable, and suitable for any skin type. Somewhere between a lotion and a gel, this hydrating medley of vitamins, antioxidants, and plant oils nourishes, repairs, and protects against free radical damage. The ingredient deck highlights Meadowfoam and Chia Seed Oils, Green Tea and Coffee Bean Extracts and Glycerin as well as Pro-Vitamin B5 among other botanicals. It’s impressive.

seriously ultra-light

Who needs it?

Let me just say that I wish this moisturizer had been around when I started developing my skincare habits twenty years ago. The incredibly user friendly texture, subtle scent, matte finish, and lasting hydration make it a great pick for seekers of no-frill simplicity with benefits.

never enough purity

Personally, at thirty seven, my combination skin requires more moisture. I am, however, convinced that under sunscreen it will provide sufficient hydration during the day this summer. At night, I may need to layer an oil over it, especially on evenings in which an acid toner or pad makes the bedtime line up.

ok, the bottle is huge

Yay or Nay

Anyone who found philosophy’s hope in a jar moisturizer too rich or needs a formula without aggressive actives should give the latest a try. Considering the $25 price tag and a rather generous 4.7 oz pump bottle, this is simplicity at its finest. It may not be my new holy grail (it’s when hope is not enough for me all the way), but I am keeping it on hand for those upcoming lazy summer days and nights. Major props for making a 15ml travel size available so you can try the newness for $5.

Available on philosophy.com as of today, February 22nd and coming to Sephora.com March 1st!

… and it’s $25
