Paula’s Choice Launches Its Best Eye Cream Yet

Since its very beginning (the mid-90s), Paula’s Choice has been known for its hard stance against separate eye creams. Fast forward 25 years and the brand has unveiled its fourth undereye moisturizer. Personally, I am a massive fan of the 1% Clinical Retinol, 10% Niacinamide Booster, and 2% BHA but the eye treatments have never been the right fit for me (the ceramide-enriched formula pilled like mad no matter how little product I used). Until now. After a few weeks of testing the newly launched Omega+ Complex Eye Cream, I can say unequivocally that it is their best one yet.

I have a short rubric of non-negotiables with regard to eye creams. They have to absorb quickly and offer an ideal happy-medium texture that isn’t too rich for daytime use and not moisturizing enough to wear overnight. It can’t pill because I need my Tom Ford Illuminating Highlighting Pen in Dusk Bisque under my eyes (it is seriously the only thing that helps me look awake). A winning cream is packaged in a pump bottle or non-clunky tube that won’t take up much room in my Dopp kit. Side note: I am not against jars.

The 411

The new Paula’s Choice Omega+ eye treatment is among the most well-rounded formulas I’ve encountered and boasts an attractive price tag. Technically labeled ‘normal to dry’, the lightweight yet creamy texture will most likely work for every skin type at any age. This new treatment is super spreadable and absorbs very well, which makes for a great day or night time moisturizer. Since signs of fatigue make their first and most noticeable appearances around the eyes, a single application will deliver instant results. You will look rested. Over time, you can also expect expression lines (aka crow’s feet) to soften a bit. Always remember: effective doesn’t equal miraculous.

What’s in it?

This is where things get really good. Paula’s Choice has mastered the art of lining up only the necessary ingredients to ensure their results live up to the promise. The formula is packed with plant oils rich in omega essential fatty acids (avocado, chia seed, linseed, passionflower) as well as antioxidants (meadowfoam, olive, white mulberry, and more). Added skin-restoring Niacinamide, amino acids (such as firming Arginine), and strengthening ceramides make me even happier. There isn’t anything I dislike in this ingredient deck.

Do you need it?

If you’re looking for a moisturizing eye cream that won’t break the bank, you’ve just found it. The straightforward formula makes for an excellent gateway into eye care but speaking as someone who’s been tapping around the orbital bone with his ring finger for twenty years, I say it will impress an eye cream veteran as well.
