With a following that includes the inner core of celebrities, supermodels and the elite of Manhattan’s Upper East Side, Mario Badescu has been catering to some of the most exposed faces in the world. Incredibly rare, new launches from this 45 year old brand are few and far between. When the Botanical Exfoliating Scrub joined their stellar assortment of iconic formulas a couple of weeks ago, this Intrigued party of one just had to give it a try.

Known for straightforward treatments that never over promise, Mario Badescu’s cult following of loyalists is comprised of people of all ages. Personally, my twenties were studded with various Mario Badescu products, including the Buttermilk and Honey Moisturizers and the Glycolic Cleanser. The latter has been a rotating must-have for years. Perfectly timed with the Spring renewal, the release of Botanical Exfoliating Scrub gave me the perfect reason to revisit the range of my old favorites.

Transparent and gel based, this exfoliator uses ground Ecuadorian Ivory Palm seeds to polish and resurface.  Soothing Aloe Vera and hydrating Coconut Oil and Extract guard against irritation and comfort the skin. Infused with countless plant extracts like Green Tea, Ginger and Gingko, this gentle facial polish provides antioxidant protection, anti-inflammatory benefits, and improves skin’s elasticity. With a single application, any dull complexion is rejuvenated, softened, and invigorated.

Facial exfoliation is a crucial step in a successful skincare routine. By helping to remove cellular buildup, your products are bound to boost their efficacy for a youthful, radiant glow. This next line needs cleaning up. While the new Mario Badescu Botanical Facial Scrub will not be changing my life anytime soon, it is only because I am used to more potent peels and acid toning. Those with sensitive skin types, however, may have found a new staple.

Mario Badescu recommends using their new facial scrub 2-3 times a week on wet skin. Always a rebel, I prefer it on dry skin before hopping in the shower, which works much better on my combination skin. After adding water, it foams up, rinses clean, and leaves skin noticeably smoother. The fresh scent is fresh, subtle and does not linger.

Available at Nordstrom.com and Ulta.com in May, the Botanical Facial Scrub can presently be ordered on www.mariobadescu.com ($26 – 3.4 oz)

I’m on the look out for a new scrub, this might just do the job. Definitely like how the brand is cruelty free too, its something I’m becoming very conscious of!

You may just like this one! It’s so gentle so ideal for daily use. And you’re right, no excuse to test on animals in this day and age! Really like your blog btw!

Hmmm definitely worth a try as I believe Mario Badescu’s products are priced accurately for what they are. However, I’m with you regarding enjoying a deeper exfoliating experience. I would definitely use this daily and on dry skin since it already has slip being in gel form. Thanks for the review Bart!
