Light It Up Blue! – with Tatcha, Astara and Osmotics.

You’re wearing something blue today, right? I am. I’m definitely wearing my Carry-All Pouch from American Apparel in ‘Tahiti Blue’. You might ask, ‘what’s with the money bag’? It’s always a conversation starter. And today, we should talk. April 2 is World Autism Awareness Day and as part of the ‘Light It Up Blue’ campaign, I’m taking my part to the next level. Much further than #SkinDeep.

Because my blog is heavily influenced by beauty and I am heavily influenced by logic, I will be serving up some true-blue beauty realness today. And because Mariah Carey insists, we’re all hashtag beautiful, I will celebrate her mantra with three of my favorite blues: Tatcha Indigo Soothing Silk Hand Cream, Astara Blue Flame Purification Mask, and Osmotics Blue Copper 5 Firming Elasticity Repair Cream. #BlueStreak!!!

In all likelihood, each of us knows someone affected by autism. The most recent statistics show that 1 in 42 boys and 1 in 189 in girls have Autism Spectrum Disorder, which accounts for 2 million children in the US alone. There are still many myths about the causes of ASD, some of which have been broken decades ago. Wearing blue today is one small way we can honor friends or family and let the world know, we know better. #LightItUpBlue

You know I love Tatcha. Their ritual of complexion perfecting has made me a believer. Tatcha’s latest addition is the Indigo line. I recently ordered the Soothing Silk Hand Cream, which is nothing short of spectacular. The cream has a gorgeous natural blue hue that vanishes upon application. That’s because Tatcha uses the stems, leaves and petals of the Indigo plant in the fermenting process. Soothing Silk’s light citrus scent and powerful softening and soothing properties make for a fantastic and non-greasy hand treatment. #iDye!

The Astara Blue Flame Purification Mask is my second blue pick and one of the very first products I invested in before turning 20. We go way back. Some may think it’s basic, but this Astara mask saved my skin years ago. And I am NOT a traitor. It’s bentonite clay based and includes raw tea tree oil and red clover, which calms as it refreshes and draws impurities from my T-zone like no other product. It is also genius as an overnight spot treatment. #BlueInTheFace

In my opinion, The Copper 5 line from Osmotics Cosmeceuticals is the unsung hero of the beauty industry. Without a trace of artificial color nor fragrance, this cream has a gorgeous aqua blue tint. Its healing powers of copper and five collagen boosting peptides make it one of my favorite night time treatments. #BlueRibbon

Everyone’s smile lights up the room we say. Today, we need to aim high. The Empire State Building in NYC will be lit up blue as is the Opera House in Sydney (well, yesterday now as technically, they live in the future). Burj Al Arab in Dubai is all blue today as well. I don’t care if you are blue blood or blue collar, light up someone’s day!
