Responsible for the flawless complexions of runway models at the recent Zac Posen show during New York Fashion Week, the Australian brand intraceuticals has been one of my favorite discoveries this past summer. Formulated to deliver at both the ‘feel good’ and ‘look good’ spectrums of a skincare experience, it has been a spa and dermatologist favorite all over the world for the last fifteen years.
Known for their three-tier system called Hyaluronic Layering, intraceuticals uses varying in size molecules of Hyaluronic Acid, that applied gradually, penetrate deeper to supply lasting hydration and comfort. Offering a wide range of problem specific solutions, my experience involved the Opulence range of skin brightening products. Driven by the latest in technology, these botanical compounds are fueled by powerful Nonapeptide-1 to addresses hyperpigmentation and sun damage.
Opulence Brightening Cleanser is a daily staple to prime the skin for proper hydration and treatment. Its silky consistency turns into creamy froth upon contact with water and removes all traces of dirt, oil and makeup. Safe to use around the eyes, this sulfate-free formula is packed with skin conditioning Vitamin E and Citrus Unshiu Peel Extract that breaks up melanin build-up revealing brighter, more luminous complexion. Lightly scented thanks to natural oils of Orange, Lemon, Grapefruit, Jasmine and Geranium, this first step in your routine is a sensory perk morning and night. $49 (1.35 oz)
Opulence Daily Serum, the first thing you apply after cleansing, utilizes Low Weight Hyaluronics (the smallest particles of Hyaluronic Acid) that absorb deep within the dermis to immediately soften, plump and revive the skin. Infused with Retinyl Palmitate and a Vitamin C derivative, this lightweight serum improves elasticity and overall tone while Ginger Root and Green Tea Extracts soothe, calm and protect against free radical damage. Truly a fantastic addition to anyone’s skincare arsenal, it is completely unscented and absorbs within seconds. $149 (1 oz)
Quite possibly my favorite part of the system, the Opulence Hydration Gel uses slightly larger in size Medium Hyaluronics to replenish and lock in moisture after the serum step. The almost liquigel texture with a tiny slip is quite unique and glides on to sink in leaving the skin instantly nourished and velvety soft. Featuring countless anti-agers, the ingredient deck includes Vitamin C, Squalane, Glycerin, Plankton and Green Tea Extracts with a touch of Salicylic Acid. Truly luxurious, this high end and high tech gel has a pleasant fresh scent and layers fantastically under your moisturizer. $88 (1.35 oz)
Rich and lush, the Opulence Moisture Brightening Cream is the finishing touch to your intraceuticals skincare ritual. Using High Weight Hyaluronics it follows the serum and gel acting like a sealant that protects against moisture loss. It highlights a natural alternative to pigment lightening Hydroquinone, Vitamin C and Retinyl Palmitate to promote brighter, more even tone over time. $69 (1.35 oz)
If you deal with particularly stubborn dark spots that require extra attention, the Opulence Brightening Wand is a spot treatment worth adding to your intraceuticals routine. This intense formula is loaded with the key ingredients Nonapeptide-1 as well as Niacinamide and Ginger Root Extract to target discoloration with a precision of its tiny brush applicator. Packaged in a twistable pen, the delivery system is spot on – no pun intended. $49 (.13 oz)
Suggested for use twice daily, the Opulence range from intraceuticals is well-rounded routine that works during the day and overnight. If you opt for daytime, make sure to wear broad spectrum sunscreen of at least SPF 30 as the brightening ingredients increase your skin’s sensitivity to the sun. Personally, I found this collection work most effectively on me at night with the addition of Serum or Gel in the AM. Consistency is key and used as instructed, this entire regimen is rather impressive.
