Thrilled to have been invited for a pre-opening facial, I could not wait to play in my old stomping grounds. Combining urban needs with beauty habits, the arrival of Heyday has made skin care and its maintenance accessible, effortless, and completely unintimidating.
When booking a facial at Heyday, the only choice you make is whether you want to experience 30 or 50 minutes of luxury. On the day of the treatment, the entire process is customized based on your immediate wishes and long term goals. Using some of the best natural and organic products from noteworthy brands (Naturopathica, Grown Alchemist, etc) the experience includes a proper cleanse followed by a number of skin type appropriate steps to attain optimal luminosity.
On days on which you may need a boost beyond a deep cleansing or intense hydration, Heyday offers optional add-on treatments. Let’s be honest, you can spin every day for a month and eat your body weight in kale, but microdermabrasion or a spa grade peel is the only way you’ll achieve that ultimate radiance.
An efficient diagnosis of significant dehydration (guilty as wined) propelled my fantastic skincare therapist, Chrissy, into a miracle performance of cleansing, exfoliating, peeling, and moisture drenching that transformed my complexion in under half an hour. The unique combination of facial massage, aromatherapy, and highly effective formulas had me leaving Heyday in a ‘hey girl hey’ kind of mood.

Michael Pollack, one of the co-founders, combines the passion for skin care with his design background and achieves clean lines of an industrial but warm lofty aesthetic. Far from structured, the ‘anti-spa’ concept has an approachable downtown vibe. Skipping the typical ‘whisper room’ area and that questionable robe, Heyday is about comfort and convenience that fits seamlessly into your busy schedule. While I was all about dozing off in the ultra comfortable chair, seeing the wall plug with every phone charger known to man in the treatment room blew my mind.
