I can’t say it’s surprising that the greatest city in the world is the inspiration behind one of the greatest niche perfume brands. Bond No. 9 has created a range of scents inspired by and to evoke the sensibilities of be-all and end-all that is New York City.
For years, I have worn Scent of Peace. Last year, I added Highline to my rotation. Love them both. I have a friend who says she smells me for hours after our lunches. My hugs are scented. #AreYours?
Named for a current project and a future neighborhood that is scheduled to sprout in the next few years, their new scent of the unknown has just become my new Spring favorite. After receiving a mailer, I stopped by their flagship Bond Street store over the weekend to sample the newly publicized Hudson Yards in its signature lime green bottle. I could live without the flower. The scent is clean and crisp. Admittedly, I’m not the first to jump on a white floral, but Yards dries down to something amazing on me.
Lily of the valley and freesia are the opening notes of Hudson Yards with a dash of pink peppercorns and lemon. Within seconds of spraying it, I picked up on a hint of Bulgarian rose with a slightly heavier dose of litchi. The dry down on me is all orange blossom and white musk absolute. #AbsolutePerfection
If you live in New York City or have the opportunity to visit, don’t miss their iconic store at 9 Bond Street (OMG!!!), which is stunning. We were lucky to be assisted by James who couldn’t have been more knowledgeable nor sweeter! I’ll be reaching out to various TV networks to recommend him for his own reality show. Or at least a talk show. #HelloJames
To walk the cobble stones of Bond Street and explore the many new restaurants and shops is in and of itself a treat, which is made even better by meandering into Bond No. 9’s flagship boutique. Upon entering the exquisite space, you are immediately surrounded by station like display tables and shelves full of their iconic star shaped bottles. Among them are Swarovski studded and Warhol inspired limited editions. Walk the plush carpet towards the end of the store and take a break at Harney & Sons Tea Bar. #YouFancy
Bond No. 9 relies on its impressive social media presence to promote its luxury brand. If you’re lucky, your might run into The Bond Guy shooting videos during NYFW or seasonal launches. He drives the coolest Bond Mobile, too. Follow them on Instagram (@bondno9ny) and Twitter (@Bond_No9) as they run contests and specials sometimes! #HiDoug!
Yess! I wish the pictures did it justice for how awesome it smells. I got to smell Hudson last week and I pretty much agree with everything here. Fabulous perfume, fabulous store. Unique take on something that doesn’t even exist yet!
I’ve been waiting for this post! Your scents are always beyond addicting and seriously refreshing. LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!
