Combining physical and chemical methods of exfoliation, the latest PoreDermabrasion from Dr. Brandt Skincare resurfaces, refines pores, and deep cleanses all at once. A response to those who found the original Microdermabrasion formula too strong, the recently launched addition is just what the doctor ordered. Ideal on problematic, congested, even sensitive complexions, this pore perfecting exfoliator is a fantastic option for those suffering from persistent breakouts and blemishes.

Piggybacking on the success of its predecessor, PoreDermabrasion utilizes Crystals to physically remove dry, flaky skin. While Microdermabrasion featured Aluminum Oxide Crystals, the new pores no more™ extension uses a blend of micro-size Pharmaceutical Grade Crystals. Finer in texture but with a substantial grit, this skin smoothing paste effectively resurfaces and revives using minimal friction without causing irritation. Scrubbing too hard is never a good idea though.

In addition to powerful crystals, PoreDermabrasion highlights a number of botanicals that promote healthy cell turnover. Caviar Lime Extract (think citrus, not fish roe) is a natural Alpha Hydroxy Acid that dissolves dead skin and brightens overall skin tone. Pumpkin and Papaya Fruit Extracts, both powerful enzymes, help even out existing skin discolorations such as post acne scars. Lentil Seed Extract tightens pores and makes them significantly less noticeable. Added Hyaluronic Acid ensures moisture levels remain balanced and anti-inflammatory Salicylic Acid (Beta Hydroxy) penetrates within the pore, improves collagen production, and skin’s barrier functions. That’s one might impressive ingredient deck.

Slotted between your cleanser and moisturizer, PoreDermabrasion is to be applied to damp skin.  Massage it in gently and leave it on for 2 minutes for a proper deep cleaning to take effect. After rinsing, pat the skin dry, and apply a day or night cream. If you choose to use it in the AM, be sure to follow with an SPF of at least 30 as any kind of exfoliation increases the possibility of sunburn. For optimal results, incorporate PoreDermabrasion into your routine up to twice a week.

Since the pores in my skin most definitely need addressing, I enjoy using PoreDermabrasion on dry skin before rinsing in the shower (I am not prone to acne.). I have tried both formulas. The original, Dermabrasion, is a more potent resurfacer (it includes Lactic Acid); the pore refining benefits of this new product are incomparably superior.
