Dermstore, one of my favorite online shopping destinations, is currently offering a handful of impressive Best Of Dermstore sets. These limited-edition edits focus on a targeted theme and provide a wide range of full and travel-size formulas from a particular category. Last year, the SPF kit was a huge success so it’s no surprise to see the Best of Dermstore Skin Care Foundation x Dermstore Sun Protection Kit make a comeback. Additionally, three other curations worth a look at are The Serums Kit, The Conscious Beauty Edit, and The Travel Edit Kit. More below.
Side note: The Sun Protection Kit is currently your FREE GIFT with any $300 purchase.
The Travel Edit Kit
Hands down my favorite, this assortment is what I would pick for the perfect travel kit. Or very close to it. It is a completely comprehensive edit of both AM and PM routines that happens to be ideal both at home and away. Every step including a gentle peel, overnight retinol, peptides, and SPF is covered by this thoughtful 11-piece set. My favorites include:
- Sunday Riley – Auto Correct Eye Brightening and Depuffing Eye Contour Cream (full size)
- iS Clinical – Cleansing Complex (travel size)
- Dr Dennis Gross – Alpha Beta Peeling Pads (3 treatments)
- Murad – Cellular Hydration Repair Cream (full size)
- Allies of Skin – Peptides Antioxidants Firming Daily Treatment (full size)
- Holifrog -SOLAR Daily Mineral Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 30 (full size)
- MEDIK8 – Intelligent Retinol 10R Serum (travel size)
The Serums Kit
In short: this is your complete serum wardrobe. And then some. Most likely my favorite of the three Best of Dermstore offerings, The Serums Kit covers all the well-aging and anti-aging basis. The edit contains 13 items, 5 of which are full-size. Here’s a quick rundown of the F/S formulas and what they tackle:
- Murad Dark Spot Correcting Serum (Tranexamic Acid to brighten)
- Medik8 Crystal Retinal 3 Serum (Retinaldehyde in the entry-level strengthen to stimulate collagen production, refine texture, firm)
- BeautyStat Universal C Skin Refiner Vitamin C Brightening Serum (stable form of Vitamin C to lighten hyperpigmentation and add radiance to all skin types)
- Paula’s Choice Pro-Collagen Peptide Booster (6 Pro-Collagen Peptides, Amino Acids, Hyaluronic Acid to hydrate, firm, repair damage caused by oxidative stress)
- HoliFrog Galilee Antioxidant Dewy Drop (Alpha Lipoic Acid, CoQ10, Vitamin B5, Niacinamide to hydrate and strengthen skin barrier)
You also receive 7 vials of the BABOR Collagen Firming Ampoule Concentrate, which is excellent for travel or when you’re ready for a more intense weeklong treatment at-home. Other travel-size hits include BIOEFFECT, PCA Skin, Obagi, SkinMedica, Biopelle, and Grande Cosmetics Las Serum sample. Lastly, the set comes with a Microneedle Face Roller and I’m going to be totally honest here–I am not sure how I feel about it. In my opinion, some treatments are best performed in-office by a licensed professional. $150 (valued at over $600) and my code OMGBART brings it down to $107.99 which is insane.
The Conscious Beauty Edit
Ok, this one is not to be missed. I already have The Serums Kit (gifted by Dermstore) but am contemplating picking up this edit because it’s curated to absolute perfection. Focused on “clean” formulas (take it as you will), the 9-piece set also happens to include a couple of my tried and true favorites. You receive the following full-size items: REN Radiance Brightening Dark Circle Eye Cream, Indie Lee Soothing Cleanser, Pai Rosehip BioRegenerate Oil, AGENT NATEUR Holi (Wash) Resurfacing Body Wash, Eminence Organic Skin Care Stone Crop Hydrating Mist, The Nue Co. Mind Energy Fragrance, jane iredale Glow Time Blush Stick in shade Glorious, and Act+Acre Fulvic Acid Volumizing Dry Shampoo.
The only travel-size item is the Grown Alchemist Intensive Hand Cream in an adorably portable 12ml metal tube. Sadly, my code doesn’t work on this edit but it’s an incredible deal nevertheless. Pick it up for $80 (valued at over $400) with my code OMGBART.
Skin Care Foundation x Dermstore Sun Protection Kit
Sadly, this year’s SPF kit is a miss for me. Hear me out. Last year, the kit boasted formulas significantly more suitable for my combination skin. The 2024 assortment is probably best for those who prefer their tinted sunscreen to have a bit more coverage–I’m referring to EltaMD UV Restore Tinted. And if you enjoy matte finish, the Obagi Medical Sun Shield Matte Broad-Spectrum SPF 50 will be your go-to during summer months. Personally, I find the finish to be a tad too flat for my liking. Other items in the kit include Supergoop! Glow Oil SPF 50 (body formula in a 1 oz bottle), Glytone Hydra Lipid UV Mineral Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40 in a F/S 50ml tube, and a handful of travel-size picks (for detailed product listing, check out dermstore.com). It’s currently on sale for $56 (a $242 value).
