More Korean Newness: BLITHE Patting Splash Masks & Pressed Serums

The latest Korean rubber mask had barely dried on my face when newer, trendier, and more innovative solutions began arriving stateside. Exclusive to Glow Recipe, my favorite online destination for all things K-Beauty (that’s Korean, not Kardashian), the Patting Splash Masks and Pressed Serums from Blithe are here and yes, you want to try them. Time saving and multitasking, these new arrivals are clever, fun to use, and very effective.

Available in three formulas, the Blithe Patting Splash Mask (or Patting Water Pack) comes in Energy Yellow Citrus & Honey, Soothing & Healing Green Tea and Rejuvenating Purple Berry. Inspired by the ritual of splashing on rice water after cleansing, this Asian tradition has received a very modern makeover. Addressing dullness (Energy), irritation (Soothing & Healing) and lack of firmness (Rejuvenating), these Blithe treatments downsize the usual 20 minute masking routine into a 30 second step. Can you even?

Mix It Sink Side

There are two right ways to enjoy the Patting Splash Mask. Wash your face first and then mix a capful of the Water Pack into a sink basin filled with water and splash the mixture on your face. You can also pour the mask directly into your palms and press into the skin while in the shower. Then, rinse.

Containing almost every berry known to man (the scent is mouth watering), the Rejuvenating Purple Berry blend highlights resurfacing Lactic Acid and Sugar Cane Extract (Alpha Hydroxies in da house) with other complexion boosting botanicals. The immediate feeling of firmness after patting my skin dry is astounding every single time. One piece of advice… if you’re a guy who shaves, skip this mask after handling the razor and save it for your evening routine. It may sting a bit if your skin is irritated. Acids, remember?

The new Blithe Pressed Serums are serum and moisturizer hybrids ‘pressed’ into one. If you’re loyal to a traditional serum, apply this one afterward and while I prefer to use this Blithe invention at night, it’s totally fine for daytime. Just remember to layer SPF on top.

There are two formulas to choose from: Tundra Chaga and Crystal Iceplant. Both star ingredients are revolutionary in a way. By using cooled instead of heated extracts, nutrients are preserved naturally without harsh stabilizers. Infused with Olive and Argan Oil ferments, each has a rich consistency that melts into the skin and leaves it nourished, hydrated and soft. Never greasy. The Tundra Changa jar has been my recent go-to after a peel or Retinol product of choice to comfort, protect and avoid dryness. Slightly lighter in texture, the Crystal Iceplant formula is perfect for anyone with combination and oily skin as it features pore refining properties.

Blithe Patting Splash Mask ($48 – 200ml) and Pressed Serum ($49 – 50ml) are available at Sephora.com and glowrecipe.com.

“…K-Beauty (that’s Korean, not Kardashian)” YES! I get cranky whenever one of their pics comes up under that hashtag on IG. However, I will admit that they always look fantastic. I may dislike them, but I am not blind. LOL.

I enjoyed your review and am so excited to get my splash mask. I love the idea of a quick, but effective mask.
