The Pill from The Nue Co Is Your New CBD/AHA/HA BFF + Exclusive 20% Off Promo

I find ‘all-in-one’ product claims to be among the most unrealistic and triggering. Philosophy began what has become the norm when it launched its “3-in-1” body washes ages ago. While lovely as a body wash, nobody in their right mind would use it as an everyday shampoo, especially when the third suggestion is, wait for it…  as a bubble bath. More recently, the all-in-one serum from a certain brand (ok, fine, U Beauty) claimed to literally do it all. Again, while effective as a hydrating step, I can’t see it doing much of glow boosting resurfacing with acid concentration of under 1%. True story. Not all hope is lost, however. Keep reading to find out about a pretty impressive multi-tasker that has recently entered the beauty space. More importantly, save 20% on this latest release by using code BART20 during checkout until August 31. More below!

What is it?

This month, The Nue Co launched The Pill, a serum, which at first, sounded too good to be true. A self-proclaimed sucker for CBD infused products, I found the concept intriguing. After all, The Pill promises to tighten and reduce inflammation, plump and moisturize, and brighten and exfoliate. As someone who would (read: needs to) benefit from each claim, I immediately incorporated this latest launch into my routine. The Pill is suitable to be used either AM or PM (or both) and has a quick absorbing, lightweight texture. It also layers seamlessly under sunscreen or night cream.

What’s in it?

The Pill is formulated using 27 ingredients to achieve the ultimate complexion perfecting goal: a visibly more radiant, de-puffed, well-rested appearance. How does it do it? The Pill contains 60mb of CBD that is blended with Caffeine, Grape Seed, and Licorice Root Extracts to reduce inflammation and tighten the skin. In order to help us attain that glow, the formula is powered by a 5% concentration of resurfacing and brightening Alpha Hydroxies, namely Glycolic, Lactic, Citric, Malic, and Tartaric Acids. These are derived from Pineapple, Bilberry, Sugar Cane, Citrus, and Passion Fruit. Lastly, the blend of Hyaluronic Acid, Sodium PCA, and Galactoarabinan plumps up dehydrated skin and prevents transepidermal water loss (not only is it a thing, it has its own abbreviation in the world of skin science: TEWL). All with zero fragrance. The Pill is legit.

How, when, etc

As mentioned earlier, The Pill has a lightweight, liquigel consistency that sinks into the skin within seconds. It also… never pills. I couldn’t  not touch on that. Since the formula contains AHAs, be sure to wear broad-spectrum sunscreen during the day, regardless of when you choose to slot it in your routine. At night, make it your sole resurfacing product and alternate with other acid powered solutions. The Nue Co advises against using Retinoids while using The Pill. Personally, I haven’t experienced sensitivity when layering my Retinol cream over The Pill. Then again, I’ve been a prescription strength user forever and my skin can take a lot. I mean, A LOT.

Do you need it?

If you’ve been disappointed by multitasking serums, I can relate. The Pill contains so many of my go to ingredients: I gravitate to CBD, Caffeine, and Alpha Hydroxy Acids since my skin responds so well to them. When used in the morning, my complexion looks visibly more radiant—almost instantly. I look forward to reporting on any long term results, which should appear within the next six weeks. If this gem contained Niacinamide, it would literally be my dream serum. Do you need it? You should try it because the special offer makes it kinda sorta a no brainer. Big reveal: the discount is not exclusive to The Pill and is valid sitewide. OMG!
