Tinted Love – Shiseido Urban Environment Tinted UV Protector SPF 43

If you run into someone who appears not to need a tint, it’s likely they’re wearing a really good one and just won’t tell you. Hashtag they wish! Everyone can benefit from a good tint either to better compliment their natural skin tone or for a hint of color. It only takes a handful of favorites in rotation to evoke a how you doin? and not a who dat? So I reach for Shiseido Urban Environment Tinted UV Protector SPF 43. #CouldThisNameBeAnyLonger?

To address the elephant in the powder room, how random is 43? In contrast to other products comprising the BB and CC craze in today’s marketplace, Shiseido has created a straight up tinted moisturizer with an SPF. While it screams ‘back to basics,’ there is nothing ordinary about it. And, with so many favorites out there, let me count the reasons Shiseido makes my list. #TheList

For someone with combination skin that can become oily during the summer months, Shiseido Urban Protector (I can’t with the full name) is a total win. With dimethicone ever present on the ingredient list, it somehow avoids the obvious slip that silicones are known for. It applies smoothly and leaves you looking that happy blend of dewy and fresh, not flat. #OilFree

Coverage is sheer and forgiving but far from non-existent. The best part? Unlike many new double letter offerings out there, this one comes in three shades. Obviously I go for the darkest one as I’m trying to fake a tan in addition to everything else. Even if I do have to mix it with a lightweight moisturizer. P.S. It works. #PRO

Active SPF ingredients are Ensulizole, Octinoxate and Titanium Dioxide. These chemical and physical sunscreens offer broad spectrum protection against both UVA and UVB rays. If you spontaneously enter a wet T-shirt contest, worry not, Urban Protector is water resistant! Whether you win or lose, reapply after 40 minutes. #YouAreCovered

It’s rare that I finish a tube of anything, but I’ve just about finished my second Shiseido tinted moisturizer. The darkest shade works perfectly for those with pink undertones. The scent is light and pleasant, something Shiseido borderline trademarked. It may have ‘urban’ in its name but trust me, this one has passed the test of concrete jungle that is Manhattan and is currently conquering the Costa Rican rain forest. #AllOverTheMap
