Paula’s Choice NEW Omega+ Complex Serum

launching April, 4th

Fans of serums that pack serious moisture in addition to hydration and treatment benefits, will find the latest Paula’s Choice RESIST Omega+ Complex fitting the bill to a T. Almost lotion-like, this new addition to the advanced anti-aging collection aims to nourish and fortify skin that lacks strength, and energy and that will benefit from a boost of vibrancy. Having been generously gifted two bottles prior to their launch date, I am enjoying this intriguing serum and have formed early impressions. Keep reading!

What’s in it?

Judging by its name, Omega essential fatty acids are its focus. Foods rich in omegas such as salmon, spinach or walnuts offer myriad health benefits, which include that sought after glow to the skin. For lucky skincare fanatics like us, the new Paula’s Choice serum is loaded with nourishing Chia Seed, Linseed, and Olive Oils to deliver the powerhouse effect topically.

almost lotion-like

Known for crafting their ingredient decks with everything we need and nothing we don’t, the impressive list is chock full of Ceramides, Sodium Hyaluronate, Maracuja Oil, and Shea Butter, among others. This cornucopia of antioxidants and skin conditioning agents makes for a superb, user friendly formula suitable for absolutely every skin type.

How and when?

The choice about when to use is left to you. Avoiding aggressive actives such as acids or retinoids, the new Omega+ Complex is flexible enough to work day or night. Or both. Cleanse, tone, exfoliate, and fortify away. Since it’s a serum richer than most, apply your Paula’s Choice Boosters beforehand. This includes Retinol (1% Clinical under; Retinol Booster can be mixed with the Omega+ Complex). If you’re using a Retinol moisturizer, apply it over this new serum.

plays well with others

Completely non-oily and far from heavy inspite of its texture, the Omega+ Complex applies like a dream and absorbs instantly. Personally, since my combination skin gets easily congested during summer months, I plan to just layer a sunscreen over it for a simple and effective daytime routine. Other perks include being fragrance free and very eye area friendly.

In Conclusion…

I am a huge fan of Paula’s Choice Boosters (especially the 10% Niacinamide) and swear by the RESIST 2% BHA Treatment, but I haven’t yet fully committed to the brand’s range of serums. This new one, however, has very effectively addressed my dull, sometimes weathered and temperamental complexion. It fully lives up to its ‘superfood for your skin’ label. Bonus points for the fancy glass bottle with pump dispenser and affordable price!

I’ve been using the Omega+ Complex after my retinoid at night and after Arbutin+Niacinamide in the AM, and it makes the world of difference to how comfortable my skin feels afterward! Definitely a keeper for dry skin or for those of us who love exfoliating with acids.

I so agree! My favorite PC serum thus far! Do you mind my asking what retinoid you’re using? x Bart

I’ve been testing The Ordinary Advanced Retinoid 2%, and it’s lovely! The price is ridiculously low for what is essentially a next-gen non-irritating retinoid. Best part is I don’t feel guilty for generously using it all over my face, neck, chest, and backs of my hands, because it’s so cheap.

Right now I am trying to finish Exuviance Super Retinol Concentrate, a long-time favorite of mine. As much as I love it, I feel like I can get the same or very similar results from The Ordinary for less.

Have you tried either of these?
