Origins Three Part Harmony – Soft Cream & Foaming Cream-to-Oil Cleanser

A complete sucker for anything labeled ‘soft cream’ and intriguing cleanser formulas, I just had to try the latest Three Part Harmony newness from Origins. A little known fact: I lived down the street from the now closed West Broadway store for over a decade. Our dogs always looked forward to receiving healthy treats and water as my husband and I stocked up on Clear Head Mint Shampoo (for him) and Night-a-Mins Lotion (for me and yes, back in the day, it was lotion in a bottle with a, not even kidding, non-existent dispensing system).

But first…

Slightly OT but I literally ran to that store on a cold November evening in 2002 when Oprah announced A Perfect World White Tea Body Cream had made her favorite things list. Immediately after, I skipped two blocks south to MarieBelle on Broome Street and had that Aztec Hot Chocolate that O had also placed on her list. Living downtown was such a blessing. Now, there’s Amazon.

My day in a nutshell. #2002

Back to Origins. Love the brand through and through and while not every product has worked for me over the years, some classics are iconic in my book: Checks and Balances, anyone?

Three Part Harmony

Without a doubt the most luxe of all the Origins offerings, Three Part Harmony looks and feels the part, but most importantly delivers. Labeled ‘for renewal,’ the line softens the look of expression lines and ups the vibrancy game. In other words, if you’re over 25, listen up.

What started with Nourishing Cream and Oil Infused Serum grew to include the most recent launches of Foaming Cream-to-Oil Cleanser and Soft Cream. Having only tried the latter, I’m already obsessed.

What’s Harmonious About It?

The signature among Three Part Harmony treatment products (all sans cleanser) is a proprietary blend of powerful botanical extracts: Paperwhite Lilly, White Myrtle and Japanese Knotweed. Known for their preserving, firming and protective powers, the ultimate trifecta aims to stimulate collagen production, purify and fight environmental damage for a smoother, younger looking complexion.

Soft Cream

In true soft cream fashion (think La Mer or Fresh Ancienne versions), the peaks are whipped to perfection and the airy texture is 100% on point. This medium weight, deeply hydrating moisturizer feels lush as it glides on freshly cleansed skin, leaving behind a subtle sheen that absorbs fully in minutes. The trademark Three Part Harmony blend is combined with Shea Butter, Algae, Squalane, Caffeine, Apple, Cucumber and Rosemary Leaf Extracts, to name a few, while Jasmine and various citrus oils lend a subtle floral fruity aroma to the formula.

This ‘light’ option has been working beautifully on my combination skin both day and night. My husband’s slightly drier skin thrives on it. You can easily layer sunscreen or a treatment oil over it, depending on your skin’s needs or apply it over absolutely any serum. In short, the Three Part Harmony Soft Cream is one of my favorite Origins launches in recent years. $69 (50ml)

Cream-to-Oil Cleanser

This hybrid face wash has a lotion consistency that turns into an oil when mixed with water. It removes makeup, dirt and pollutants while softening the skin and promoting cellular turnover. Highlighting Paperwhite Lilly and and White Myrtle Extracts, the unique formula feels luxurious and does not disappoint. Apply it to damp skin and as the creamy lotion gives way to silky oil, it becomes a frothy lather that you can massage around for thirty seconds. Pure pleasure. It rinses clean and leaves the face feeling incredibly soft, conditioned and prepped for treatment.

Intended for those with drier complexions, the Three Part Harmony Cream-to-Oil Cleanser is the anti-aging step up from my beloved Checks and Balances. At 36, my skin needs all the renewal and replenishment it can get and I’m finding this latest face wash is an asset both sink-side and in the shower. $39 (150ml)

You write really well. I liked the way you have detailed the product and not just rambled the goodness of it. Your graphic description almost made me buy it. Great job & good luck.

That’s so kind – thank you! I appreciate it! The cleanser is my go-to this winter for sure – not sure it would work as well during warmer weather but am loving it during cold weather.
