The Scoop On November Beauty Subscription Boxes — Beauty Heroes, The Detox Box & Boxwalla

Do you know what I love most about beauty subscription boxes? The variety. And since I loathe comparison posts, content that pins products against one another brings me no joy whatsoever. And do not get me started on ‘dupes’ or the ‘Splurge vs Steal’ nonsense. With that said, the November beauty boxes I received are pretty spectacular. It never feels right to pick a single winner, so this review of Beauty Heroes, The Detox Box, and Boxwalla is intended to help you decide what’s best for you. Maybe you’ve wanted to try a new product or to experience a formula/ingredient your skin does best with at this time of year. Or perhaps you’ve run out of a serum or whatnot and the below may steer you toward a new treat? Common thread: each box includes two full-size products. Let’s get to it.

Beauty Heroes — Khus-Khus

This month, Beauty Heroes brings us a luxurious, Ayurveda inspired face and body care duo from Khus Khus. Lemon Body Potion is all around exquisite. The rich texture melts into the skin and absorbs without feeling heavy or greasy. In a single application, the dreaded dry, ashy patches on my elbows are gone. The same is true for spots where my skin gets itchy as outside temperatures drop. It also smells absolutely divine. Both rejuvenating and relaxing, this body balm is currently topping my list of favorites.

This month’s sidekick, The D Drop Humectant Factor is a deeply hydrating serum that will work on absolutely every skin type. If your complexion craves extra hydration, apply a pump or two of this lightweight serum after cleansing and toning to propel your serum step to higher efficacy (hydrated skin absorbs actives much better). The peppermint hydrosol feels incredibly refreshing on the skin, but it’s actually the watermelon ferment extract that provides the hours of plumping hydration. It layers beautifully under richer serums, creams, or oils.

The November Discovery is a $126 value. The most popular subscription is $38.95 with a 3 month prepaid commitment. Check out all options at beauty-heroes.com.

The Detox Box — Odacitè

Inspired by French skincare rituals and combined with the clean and healthy backdrop of California living, this month’s Detox Box includes a sumptuous Odacité cleansing oil and lightweight overnight treatment. Real talk: the few times a week that I use a cleansing oil, it’s a true self-care moment. A ritual almost. The Montana Harvest Omega Oil Cleanser elevates a cleansing step to exactly that. The rich golden blend of Omega-rich oils (Safflower, Hemp, Olive, Oat, and Seabuckthorn) dissolves pigment, pollutants, sunscreen, and daily grime in seconds. It also liquifies with water or you canig remove it with a hot cloth. The invigorating aroma of Lemongrass and Sweet Basil is the ultimate finishing touch.

In my opinion, the Crème De La Nuit is the unsung hero of all November boxes. This shockingly lightweight overnight treatment is packed with Vitamin C (Blue Green Algae derived), CoQ10, and Ashwaganda to deliver a brighter, firmer, visibly rejuvenated complexion while we sleep. Its stunning pink hue (the first one ingredient is Pomegranate Fruit Juice, hello), the silky, almost gel-like texture glides smoothly over the skin, and sinks in instantly. Lemongrass makes another appearance but is paired with Rose Geranium for the much needed mind-soothing aroma before we hit the pillow. Totally obsessed with this one.

The November Detox Box is a $166 value. Various subscription tiers range from $39.95 a month (with a 6 month prepaid commitment) through $45.95 (when you prepay for 3 months) to $58.95 per box as a monthly charge. All info on thedetoxmarket.com

Boxwalla — Cipher Skincare & Skin Alchemists

Boxwalla curates some of the most unique, under the radar eco-luxe finds in their bi-monthly box. The now open December box features a serum and moisturizer that provide myriad benefits to every skin type. The Cipher Skincare C-Shield is an antioxidant powerhouse featuring two forms of Vitamin C (Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate and Ascorbyl Glucoside), White Pine Bark, Chlorella, Green Coffee, and Snow Mushroom Extracts. That’s in addition to Sodium Hyaluronate and Niacinamide, both non-negotiables in my serum of choice. A single pump of this silky, water-based serum is plenty per application to achieve brighter, energized, and hydrated skin both instantly and over time.

The Skin Alchemists Time Traveller renewing face cream couldn’t have arrived at a better time. With freezing temperatures having fast become the new current situation, a richer moisturizer is very much welcome. This creamy blend of Colloidal Silver (antimicrobial), Black Seed Oil (healing and restoring), Bakuchiol (firming), Rosehip (nourishing), Seabuckthorn (protective), Squalane (deeply moisturizing), and Hyaluronic Acid (hydrating) provide the perfect consistency, which works on my combination skin day and night during colder weather. Major props for the intoxicating aroma courtesy of Bitter Orange Oil. As one who is partial to anything Neroli, I absolutely love it.

The Boxwalla If On A Winter’s Day, A Traveller themed box is a $212 value. Head to theboxwalla.com to grab it as part of the bi-monthly $49.95 subscription.
