Thrilling and therapeutic, the recent launch of La Mer Reparative Skintint SPF 30 officially ends my moderate to severe depression after the casual phasing out of the original formula a few years ago. Gutted and struggling to recover for years, replacing the discontinued Fluid Tint SPF18 proved to be borderline impossible. Luckily for all of us, my favorite luxury authority in the biz is bringing tint back. And it’s better than ever.
A step above the competition and on a par with the rest of the legendary range, La Mer Reparative Skintint SPF30 includes the brand’s secret weapon, Miracle Broth. This sea derived algae extract infused with the energy of light and sound is one of the most iconic anti-aging compounds. With antioxidant rich Lime Tea Concentrate, this light as air cream fights free radical damage and with the new Deconstructed Water delivery system all active ingredients penetrate deeper into the skin. The Skintint treatment combines the soothing, healing, and skin repairing powers with superb pigment and broad spectrum sun protection. That’s like five birds and one stone.
Featuring a few differences that distinguish it from the original tinted moisturizer, the new La Mer Reparative Skintint SPF30 is creamier in texture. Whipped to opulent perfection, it spreads like a dream and leaves behind a subtle yet noticeable tone correcting hint of color. Combining long term skincare benefits with immediate color payoff, this two-faced stunner works overtime to keep you looking flawless. Always. In all ways.
Besides a richer texture, the pigment game is stronger in the new La Mer Skintint. Offered in five shades (three in its prior life), the accommodating lineup ranges from Very Fair to Tan with Light, Light/Medium, and Medium in between. Crucial to a proper daytime treatment, the increased SPF is a much appreciated bonus. Finally, with regard to its magical finish, the most amazing thing about the now gone Fluid Tint, I am happy to report that it’s not quite as dewy as its predecessor’s, but it’s *very* close. Sheer to light with a chance to be medium, the coverage Reparative Skintint offers is forgiving and buildable. It blends equally dreamy applied with a brush, sponge or even your fingers.
Packaged in a mess and clutter-free upright tube, the new La Mer Reparative Skintint SPF30 is an ideal travel and on-the-go companion. The familiar clean and fresh scent with that tiny hint of mint remains – thank you! As with any color item make sure you cleanse and moisturize properly prior to applying to achieve a smooth and lasting effect. It wears for hours and comes off with even a gentle cleanser. This complexion perfector gets filed under: “YASSS! Bow down, bitches”.
La Mer Reparative Skintint SPF30 $95 – 1.4 oz available at NeimanMarcus.com, Nordstrom.com, Barneys.com, Saks.com and at with international delivery at Selfridges.com for £65.
I’ve not tried this yet but surprised at how thick it appears in your swatch photo. Is it really heavy on the skin?

Hey Thom! It’s definitely creamier than the almost liquid formula before but I think many will prefer the richer texture for its spreadability. It may feel a tad heavier going on but definitely doesn’t look it once applied. 🙂
