Known for some of the best investigative reporting, the New York Times published one of the most riveting exposes with a human interest story angle last week–also known as Kylie Jenner’s Beauty Regimen: How She Keeps It Real. Not. Even. Kidding. While I skimmed through the Makeup (she likes “something super clean and light” – yeah, ok ) and Hair (she likes it black, hello) paragraphs, the Skincare section read pretty well! Like, seriously, you guys.
Just a normal eighteen year who only happens to live in a krazy world, Kylie’s routine is surprisingly approachable. She loves the Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado (agreed!), Sephora brand face masks (yes, please), a sunscreen Kourtney told her about (it’s by TiZO3), the Neutrogena face wipes (gurl, there are so many better options out there, for reals) and an all-natural moisturizer called the Mimosa Blossom Dream Cream. I quickly googled the last one expecting it to be a custom blend from an industry insider on Melorse with a K on the price tag. Wrong. Made in small batches by a Clinical Herbologist in New Mexico, it retails online for just $6.95.
Infused with a wide range of botanicals with a touch of Beeswax, the Mimosa Blossom Dream Cream is a pretty universal face and body formula that hydrates, tones, boosts radiance, and helps achieve an even, luminous complexion. Fueled by countless plant oils (Olive, Almond, Apricot, Grape Seed, Avocado, Coconut, Jojoba, Rosehip Seed, Shea Butter, Mimosa Flower Wax, Ylang Ylang, and Sweet Orange), the whipped creamy texture is unusually lightweight. With a succulent citrus aroma, It’s actually pretty dreamy.
Ideal for anyone with drier skin types, the Mimosa Dream Cream isn’t heavy, but it’s just a tad too rich for my combination skin to handle on a regular basis. It is great, however, as a sporadic treat, especially as a night cream after a resurfacing acid treatment. Nourishing and protecting, it is fantastic to have on hand for the upcoming colder months. As a body treat, it already fixed my ashy elbows that appeared again like clockwork this month. Best applied on damp skin, it locks in the moisture and keeps the skin soft and supple for hours. Because of its natural content, the Dream Cream is best kept in the fridge unless there is a cool, dark spot in your bathroom.
Formulated by Denise Tracy Cowan and sold at her family owned The Super Salve Co., Kylie Jenner’s favorite is available in two sizes: 1.7 oz ($6.95), and 6oz ($11.95). You can pick up a jar of Mimosa Blossom Dream Cream at supersalve.com.
I wasn’t even aware of this NYT article, so I’m reading it now! So entertaining. The cream sounds nice, too but probably too rich/heavy for me since I’m oily. Fun review. 🙂
