Can’t Glow Wrong – GLYTONE Mini Peel Gel

I wish my skin cleared up as fast as my calendar did when GLYTONE sent invites to their Complexion Perfection cocktail event a few weeks ago. You’ll never need to twist my arm to learn about glycolic acid peels over drinks with friendly faces. What I learned: lunchtime peels are so ten years ago. What I took away: a generous GLYTONE swag bag to keep my glow going. Without ever looking like Samantha Jones after her lunchtime peel in Sex and the City.

A favorite among dermatologists, GLYTONE manufactures professional peel products used during in-office procedures. The brand offers ten peels that require applications by the pros. Glytone Mini Peel Gel, the only over the counter option safe enough for at-home use is their eleventh offering. Whether you need to address the pesky number eleven lines between your brows or you’re in need of a quick fix at the eleventh hour, this complexion booster has you covered.

Part of GLYTONE’s Step-Up range, Mini Peel Gel has a free acid value of 10.8. That means that exactly 10.8% of glycolic acid goes into the skin to rejuvenate, resurface, stimulate cellular turnover, soften the look of wrinkles, and promote collagen production. All that in exactly ten minutes with zero downtime. Simply apply a thin layer to clean skin and when time is up, deactivate it by splashing plain water on your face.

Two things to keep in mind when using a glycolic acid product: first, always use SPF during the day after using a peel as it increases your sensitivity to the sun like crazy. Second, It may burn and, while the stinging sensation is totally normal, I tend to avoid it on days when I botch shaving my face. The tingle is very much present in the GLYTONE Mini Peel Gel as it is one of the stronger over the counter formulas available. Suck it up, Buttercup. There is absolutely no redness, dryness, or discomfort after washing it off.  A clear, smooth complexion requires some effort… The struggle is real.
