Greener Pastures – St. Patrick’s Day – Perricone MD Chloroplasma, Kusmi Tea & more!

Green is the color of nature, renewal, life and harmony. It is also associated with greed, money and jealousy, which sounds as decisive as I am sometimes. I love wings but I hate beer. I can drink green juice like it’s my job but I hate to exercise. I’m all for travel yet I need a Valium (or four) to get on a plane. In today’s post, I’ll be giving green light to some awesome things in my life – all of them green. Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

A little known fact is that I had my first cup of coffee at 18. I grew up drinking black tea and only took to coffee in my early twenties. To this day I can’t drink it hot. I will only drink iced coffee and only black. No sugar, no milk, no room for nonsense. When green tea became a ‘thing’ I was like, “where do I sign”?

Kusmi Detox green tea is a blend of maté and Chinese green tea infused with subtle hints of lemon and lemongrass. Adam Glassman swears by it and you know those people at O, The Oprah Magazine don’t mess around.

Morning, noon, and night.
Morning, noon, and night.

I drink my Kusmi Detox hot or cold and love everything about it. There is something so chic about a tin of loose leaf tea. My ‘tea time’ takes minutes to prepare and my ritual almost always begins at 6 or 7am. Though I am as British as St. Patrick was Irish (he was not), I do know my tea. No joke.

My second favorite thing (now, I really do feel like Oprah) is the brand new addition to the Perricone MD Plasma line of skin care: Chloro Plasma. While I’m hardly Dr. Perricone’s biggest fan, this treatment mask intrigued me when I saw it. And when I use something two days in a row, you know things have gotten real.

The soft creamy mask is packed with microcapsules of Blue Green Algae and Watercress extracts. Since both contain high levels of Chlorophyll, the off white mask turns green after you massage it in. The scent is subtle and a departure from the signature aroma of Perricone’s products (so thank you).

Maybe it’s because I spent 3 days in the city last week, but after rinsing it off, my skin looked deeply cleansed, revitalized and purified. In glowing terms, it was borderline luminous. Very few products serve up such realness after just a single application and this new mask delivered.

My last green favorite is a fun ancillary form an ultra luxe line of fragrances by Francis Kurkdjian. While he created some of the most famous scents for everyone in the industry from Acqua di Parma to Versace, his own Maison line is a true niche.

Kurkdjian developed a playful approach to scent and its discovery by blowing bubbles. Whether you want to scent your room or experience a sensory escape, embrace being young at heart and surround yourself with extraordinary bubbles. My green pick for today is cut grass but scents are also available in pear, mint and violet.

There you have it. I am celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with Kusmi Detox, which is most definitely my cup of (green) tea. I clean up from a Leprechaun with Perricone MD’s latest Chloro Plasma, and scent the bathroom with Maison bubbles feeling as if I were in a field of shamrocks.
