Christophe Robin Cleansing Volumizing Paste with Pure Rassoul Clay

Equal parts luxurious and addicting, the Christophe Robin range of hair care is hands down the chicest product in our shower. Its low key yet stylish packaging through the dreamy on-point aromas to its overall impressive performance, I have yet to find a product my Leo mane doesn’t love. The most recent launch of Cleansing Volumizing Paste with Pure Rassoul Clay and Rose Extracts is no exception. Color me intrigued but I am absolutely hooked. And, additional volume is the last thing my hair needs.

What’s new?

I had the opportunity to chat with the man behind the brand during the opening night of his pop-up salon in downtown Manhattan last month. Having been fortunate enough to receive treatments during his previous New York stay as well as at the famous Paris location, I anticipated the visit enthusiastically. Learning about the newness directly from him had me borderline hyperventilating. Minimalists with high hair care standards need Christophe Robin in their lives.

Volume & Me (The Short Story)

Volumizing anything has held little to no interest for me. Blessed with thick hair (and lots of it), I find the promise of volume comes with dryness, especially in the scalp. Enter Christophe Robin who speaks about Rhassoul Clay, an ingredient used in face and body care that I enjoy immensely. The cleansing, balancing, and strengthening properties of this mineral rich clay are truly remarkable. It nourishes and fortifies hair without triggering frizz.

What’s in it…

Christophe Robin combines 100% pure and natural Rassoul Clay with soothing Centifolia Rose Water and repairing botanicals in new Cleansing Volumizing Paste, which transforms and elevates the ancient ingredient into an opulent formula. The dark, gritty texture is so concentrated that a teaspoon is all that is needed for a frothy lather that will clean your hair and scalp. I use it as I do a clarifying shampoo–not every day, but every third wash or so. Or before an event. Think of it as a refresher/blotting treatment and work it into your schedule, as needed.

How I make it work

Can we talk about the rose scent? It’s subtle and true to the most symbolic flower. And, it lingers without overstaying its welcome. In spite of the slightly sandy grit, the Cleansing and Volumizing Paste rinses off beautifully. In my case– I’ d describe my hair as normal with heat damage (addicted to that flat iron)–following up with a conditioner is mandatory. My favorite back-to-back treatment is the Regenerating Mask with Prickly Pear, which helps achieve body and radiance. If you’re like me and cannot be without the iconic Cleansing Purifying Scrub with Sea Salt, alternate it with the latest Christophe Robin cleansing paste.
