Launching today, boscia unveils Charcoal MakeUp Melter cleansing oil-balm and Tsubaki Splash Mask highly concentrated instant deep hydration treatment. That’s all.

Seriously though, if your skin is anything like mine (read: congested yet dehydrated), this brand new duo is something you absolutely want to consider. Elevating the power of botanicals with the latest in science, boscia has been among my favorite beauty trend setters for over a decade. With its roots in Japan, this Sephora exclusive range very much paved the way for the much sought after Asian aesthetic since its arrival on the scene in 2002.

The boscia difference.

Known for unique textures, aromas, delivery systems, and impressive results, boscia brings it every time. Consistently. Expanding on two of their most popular lineups, pore-minimizing charcoal and tsubaki deep hydration, the new additions may be my favorites this year.

Charcoal MakeUp Melter

Dubbed a cleansing oil-balm, this solid, semi waxy cleansing formula offers a unique take on the now ubiquitous balm experience because–let’s be honest–every brand has felt compelled to launch one in the last few years. The instructions are standard: apply to dry skin, massage it gently including over the area around the eye, add warm water, watch it turn milky, and rinse it off in seconds. Gone are dirt, any pollutants, makeup, and excess oil. What’s anything but standard are the experience and results – your skin is left feeling clean, plump and hydrated after a single step. You will reach for this one day and night and both the packaging and consistency make this a perfect travel companion – a rarity in the world of bulky balms that too often liquify in transit.

Charcoal is where it’s at.

Skin balancing Binchotan White Charcoal Powder and Activated Bamboo Charcoal provide remarkable healing and detoxifying benefits and also protect against loss of moisture. Nourishing Sunflower Oil acts as a carrier to ensure the charcoal combo is able to properly cleanse and purify deep within the skin. Every boscia masterpiece features a proprietary blend of Jojoba Leaf and Willowherb to calm and prevent irritation. Also, let’s take a moment to appreciate the soothing herbal aroma because even the natural fragrance of this gem is superb.

Tsubaki Splash Mask

One of the biggest kbeauty imports of the year, the splash mask phenomenon is alive and well. Leave it to boscia to create a formula and packaging so user friendly that my ‘other’ bottle is officially hitting early retirement. A third in the Tsubaki mask department, this is an express option that complements the Hydrogel and Sleeping formulas seamlessly. Fueled by Tsubaki and Rice Bran Oils, this anti-aging medley protects against free radical damage, brightens, hydrates and addresses uneven tone and sun related hyperpigmentation issues. Safe enough to use daily, this softening and comforting treatment is a great pick for anyone dealing with itchy, dry patches or whose skin often feels tight.

So, how do you splash?

There are two ways to enjoy the new boscia Tsubaki Splash Mask correctly. Add two or more pumps to a bowl or sink filled with water and splash the mixture directly on your cleansed face for 20 seconds. OR in the shower, apply one pump straight up on damp skin after cleansing and pat yourself dry without rinsing. Personally, I’m an in-shower splasher but that’s only because I’m completely uncoordinated around the sink. Haute mess.

Charcoal MakeUp Melter ($32 – 3 oz.) and Tsubaki Splash Mask ($38 – 1.85 oz.): available at Sephora.com
