How is it March? We’re at least one major snowstorm away from springing ahead here in Connecticut and I can’t wait for earlier sunrises and later sunsets. I’m most happy to leave behind is the dullness my skin takes on during the winter. And, the perpetually dry lips. That’s why the timing of this month’s Beauty Heroes Discovery couldn’t have been more perfect. This month, we received a full-sized trio from Henné Organics that will change everything. Illumine Face Oil is the hero product, which arrived with two sidekicks: Lip Mask and Lip Balm.
Illumine Face Oil
The black bottle and golden font that matches the silky oil housed inside is giving off ultimate luxury energy. It’s a beautiful blend of seed oils (Camellia, Borage, Baobab, Cloudberry, Elderberry, and Seabuckthorn to name a few) that is rich in vitamins, essential fatty acids, and phytonutrients. Formulated using organic and raw botanicals, this potent solution brightens the skin, adds luminosity, and softens fine lines. Aren’t we all planning to address all the above with Spring in plain view? The formula is medium-weight in texture/consistency, which feels comforting on the skin. Since I enjoy a scent to my facial oil, the fusion of Jasmine, Rose, and Ylang Ylang earns Illumine an extra star. It’s wonderful. ($110 value)
Lip Mask
I’m not a fan of lip masks only because I fail to see the difference between lip masks and lip balms. But that’s just me. With that said, the Henné Organics Lip Mask is super moisturizing and while I choose to apply it to enjoy a masking moment, I usually forget to wipe it off. So, it just kind of sinks in. Or should I go in with a heavier hand? In spite of its balm-like base, it quickly melts into an oil on the lips. There’s a faint citrus scent. Ingredient highlights include Seabuckthorn, Rosehip, Pomegranate, and Cranberry oils among others, in a cushiony Beeswax base. ($37 value)
Lip Balm
Slightly more lightweight in its balm-to-oil texture than the mask, the Henné Organics Lip Balm is pretty exquisite. The INCI list is short here: Coconut Oil, Beeswax, Avocado Oil, Shea Butter, Jojoba Seed Oil, and Vitamin E. It’s incredibly soothing and moisturizing upon application and isn’t at all greasy. I’d describe it as feeling silky on the lips. What I love? That it’s unscented, so when used on-the-go, it won’t interfere with anything I’m sipping or snacking on. Thrilled with this one. ($22 value)
In conclusion
I’d have been happy had this month’s delivery only included Illumine Face Oil. Considering the $170 value of this moisture-drenching trifecta, I highly recommend you grab the March Discovery before it is gone. Monthly subscription prices vary. I’m told the $45.95/mo (3 month minimum) option is the most popular.
