When I first heard of the new bareMinerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream, it was obvious I needed something from every part of its name. Thinking things couldn’t get any better, quelle surprise that it contains broad spectrum SPF 30 and offers a shade that is called, “Tan.” Um, hi. Since I haven’t yet recovered from La Mer having discontinued their Fluid Tint, I search perpetually for the perfect tinted moisturizer. We’re getting close with this one. Very close.

User and travel friendly, the tube, which stands upright earns bareMinerals Complexion Rescue its first star. Extremely light, the gel feels cool and refreshing upon application, blends in flawlessly, and provides perfectly sheer coverage. Light in consistency, it absorbs quickly allowing a buildable effect if you so desire. The dewy finish is far from shiny or shimmery, yet imparts the right amount of glow to make you look like you, just better.

Infused with antioxidants and botanicals, and rich in energizing electrolytes from coconut water, Complexion Rescue can be easily dubbed treatment makeup.  Providing outstanding sun protection with non-chemical broad spectrum SPF 30, this bareMinerals addition is a pretty tough competitor among BB and CC creams. Saving mine for warmer months, I am 99% sure this will be my go-to all summer long. Who would have thought that the company that put mineral makeup on the map and swore liquid off, would deliver such an exceptional gel cream tint. Kudos to Shiseido for this post-acquisition success.

Available in 10 shades, there isn’t a skin tone for which the Complexion Rescue from bareMinerals will not work. Strongly believing that tan is a state of mind, I opted for that very shade numbered 07. Literally lucked out – it’s a perfect match. Formulated without oils, silicones, parabens, or fragrance, this color correcting gel is pure excellence. After a week, I can assure everyone that it comes off with cleansing oils, foaming cleanser, cleansing balms, and even micellar water.

As a longtime fan of the brand, but not a makeup user per se, I have been enjoying quite a few of bareMinerals products for years. Some major highlights have been the Faux Tan self-tanner, Clay Chameleon Tranforming Purifying Cleanser, and Well-Rested Face & Eye Brightener.

bareMinerals Complexion Rescue retails for $29.com (1.18 oz). Available at Nordstrom.com, Sephora.com, and Ulta.com.

I use this with the Clarins Beauty Flash Balm. It’s a great combination.
