Bloody Fantastic – RODIAL Dragon’s Blood Cleansing Water

With its air of exclusivity, Rodial Skincare is rarely found on retail shelves in the United States. The Dragon’s Blood range may sound whimsical, but the beauty columns in fashion magazines regularly cover the Bee and Snake Venom lines from this luxury brand. Mornings of late, I have been using Dragon’s Blood Cleansing Water for a cleanse to soothe, hydrate and brighten. Formulated without lords, rings, or hobbit tears, this unusually sounding product is magical in its own right. #WorkTheMagic

I am very familiar with cleansing waters (and having written of them before). Rodial offers something unexpected in a category that rarely surprises. Dragon’s Blood may sound like it has been taken from a fantasy novel but in reality it’s red resin from a tree that grows on a group of surrounding islands on the Indian Ocean. The tall bottle stands upright with a pump, earning another immediate bonus point for the practical packaging. #RedHot

A cleansing water does not replace your regular face wash; it does not provide a deep, clean feel. It is, however, a perfect solution for a late night or morning cleanse, especially if you used a peel the night before and your skin is in need of some TLC. The namesake ingredient in Dragon Blood Cleansing Water has healing and antiseptic properties and Rose Water makes for a soothing base of this Rodial cleanser. Packed with moisture binding hyaluronic acid and glycerin, it also contains Vitamin B3 that illuminates and adds radiance to the skin. #AllGood

Never drying nor stinging, Rodial Dragon’s Blood Cleansing Water exhibits a softness that is almost tangible but never leaves a film. Saturate a cotton pad and press it over your eyes for a few seconds before wiping off your makeup. Your entire face will feel clean, nourished and hydrated. Sometimes, I end up with facial towelettes that are just not moist enough but one pump of this water jump starts them in an instant! The floral rose scent is subtle and relaxing. Worth mentioning is the fact that every single Rodial product contains Pomegranate Ellagic Tannin, a natural anti-ager that firms and boosts collagen production. #CleanSweep

With roots in London, Rodial  has become a global brand over the past 15 years with retail presence in 35 countries. A favorite of editors, celebrities, and royals, it offers luxury formulations containing proven anti-aging ingredients and delivered by the latest technology. Dragon’s Blood Cleansing Water is available in a 200 ml (6.8 oz) bottle and retails for $36. In the US, you can find it at Nordstrom.com, SpaceNK.com and Beauty.com. #HeadAboveWater

I’ve never been big on cleansing waters. I’ve always felt like they won’t do the job properly! I’ve heard loads about Rodial in the past and its quite popular with bloggers, especially here in the UK. Will keep an eye out for this one and I might be tempted to give it a go… 🙂 Great review, as always!

I actually like the sound of this, possibly because the ‘Dragons blood’ term caught my attention…
