Oh, Hay!!!*

* a greeting or exclamation said with an exaggerated high pitch, sass, enthusiasm and emphasis on the “haaay.” Often used to indicate sexiness or a vivacious attitude.

I’d like to thank The Academy is what I want to say considering the timing of this inaugural blog post, but the truth is I really must acknowledge and thank my many friends who believed in me when the INS didn’t. I’m the luckiest guy in the world.

How it started…

My partner–who bought me a bottle of Cartier and an Umbrian Clay Bar from Fresh twelve years ago–you started it all. What an extravagant way to see how I cleaned up!  And, to so many other friends, work colleagues, and fans, thank you for not calling TLC’s Hoarders after witnessing my obsession with piles of product with which I refuse to part.

I recently re-watched the video from my college graduation surprise party and my friend Allison toasted me as ‘the perfect person to ask which eye cream to purchase.’ a comment that still resonates today and makes me realize; I should have begun writing a long time ago.

And so, I gave it a shot…

Just this month, I reached out to a handful of carefully selected bloggers in the UK and was lucky enough to be invited to guest blog, which I enjoyed tremendously. That experience and the encouragement and kindness of readers conspired to get me started on my own online adventure.

I pledge always to be in haute pursuit of more than just the perfect eye cream. I’ll test out moisturizers and masks but also martinis, meatballs, and more. There will be restaurant openings to attend, vacations to relive or dream about, and, of course, great reads to recommend. Hang in. I’m not Gwyneth and certainly not Oprah, but an honest non-tastemaker with exceptionally good taste.
