Part of my core beauty arsenal for summer, the Vivant Skincare Mandelic Acid 3-in-1 Exfoliating Cleanser is back in the shower doing it’s thang! A must for a textbook case of combination skin, this deep cleansing face wash handles blemishes, uneven skin tone, and dullness like a pro. With the help of Mandelic Acid, buffing beads and multi-fruit extracts, it resurfaces, unclogs pores and brightens the skin. Summer glow, anyone?

When my friend Emily recommended Vivant 3-in-1 cleanser over a year ago, she warned me to experience it gradually.  A pro in the beauty biz, I don’t question her. If you haven’t used Mandelic Acid, it’s best to take things slow. While not as aggressive as Glycolic or Lactic, it is oil soluble, which means it has the ability to work deep within the pore. Talk about a dream come true for those with congested complexions. Gentle but uber hardworking, this Alpha Hydroxy battles acne and hyperpigmentation effectively.

Those with oily skin should build up their tolerance to Vivant Skincare Mandelic Acid 3-in-1 Exfoliating Cleanser. Begin by using it a couple of times a week and pick up frequency aiming for every other day. Eventually, the goal is to be able to use it daily. While OTC peel products remain constant in my routine, this Vivant cleanser is a must 2-3 times a week. Especially during summer months, it is great at removing a particularly overzealous sunscreen at the end of a very hot day.

Apply Vivant Mandelic Acid Cleanser on a damp face and concentrate on bumpy or excessively oily areas. While the microbeads mechanically exfoliate and remove dead cells, the star active ingredient works below the surface to clarify, refine, and renew. Gentle and non-irritating, it is infused with soothing, protecting, and nourishing botanicals like White Grape, Honey and Japanese Green Tea Leaf Extracts.

With a candy like aroma somewhere between Skittles and Jelly Beans, the Vivant Mandelic Acid 3-in-1 face wash is the best smelling formula recommended by a dermatologist. Immediately after rinsing it off, you will feel amazing smoothness to your skin without any tightness or discomfort. Two things to remember after you clean your face with this amazing cleanser: moisturize as you may experience some peeling if you don’t, and wear your SPF since resurfacing increases your skin’s photosensitivity.

Tips and tricks? My T-zone can take a lot so I choose to apply the Vivant Mandelic Acid Cleanser directly on dry skin before hopping into the shower. All summer long, I take things a bit further and massage some on my shoulders to prevent any unwanted roughness, discoloration, or breakouts.

Available at dermstore.com for $31 (8 oz bottle with a flip top).
