Glow Recipe Banana Soufflé Moisture Cream Review

I actually salivated the moment I heard Glow Recipe would be launching Banana Soufflé Moisture Cream. Kudos to the brand’s founders on the soufflé visual; I absolutely loathe banana cream pie, which best remains locked in the Yankee Candle archives. Back to Glow Recipe. The latest addition to the delicious lineup quickly has become a daily special on my skincare menu. It’s lightweight, delivers an impressive dose of moisture, and works great both AM and PM on my combination skin. If you’re looking for a unique and effective formula that feels as refreshing as the absence of the typical barrage of anti-aging claims and promises, this may just be it.

It’s B-A-N-A-N-A-S

Glow Recipe entered the beauty scene with their mouthwatering Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask. The Pink Juice Moisturizer that followed is still among my personal favorites. I enjoyed the Avocado ancillaries, but found them too rich to use every night (that Retinol Sleeping Eye Mask though is seriously fantastic). Banana, however, fits right in the middle with its balance of hydration and moisture. This time of year, the colder weather has my skin craving more nutrition than ever so I’ve been reaching for this sunny-hued globe-shaped jar fairly often.

Ingredient Intel

Banana Soufflé Moisture Cream is indeed infused with banana water, which is naturally rich in Potassium and Magnesium. The latter is beneficial to the skin, particularly for those oily and acne-prone types. Combined with Gotu Kola (aka Cica Plant Extract), the duo helps lower cortisone levels in the skin and soothe irritation. The ingredient deck is studded with comforting and glow boosting extracts such as Chia Seed, Neem Leaf, and Holy Basil. All this in addition to standard staples like Sodium Hyaluronate, Squalane, and Bisabolol.

For anyone wondering if the formula is oil-free: it’s not. The use of Jojoba Seed Oil, however, doesn’t result in the cream feeling heavy or oily. Zooming in on its consistency, I’ll slot the Banana Soufflé Moisture Cream somewhere between a serum and a lotion — it’s actually quite runny. And as I shamelessly dip my finger daily into the golden pot, I have to remind myself not to lick it; the faint banana aroma is delicious. There’s no reason to fear smelling like a snack all day. The scent dissipates within seconds.

Final Thoughts

This one is claiming its shelfie spot at the moment. I’ll probably use it only at night when the warmer weather arrives but for now, it’s a great calming moisturizer in a very cute jar. It also provides an alternative to more potent actives on days or nights when my skin needs a break. My only wish: a pump bottle similar to Pink Juice.
